CZ pistols

I am pretty meticulous when it comes to purchasing firearms. For my first centerfire, non-milsup handgun I did plenty of research on my options.

I wanted a 9mm handgun, with good ergonomics. It had to be easy to shoot, durable, with a good sight picture. I chose the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow. After holding the SR9, M&P9, Glock 17, Beretta 92fs, STI Spartan 1911. I wanted a firearm that I could transition into competitive sport shooting in the future.

For under $1000 (my budget) the CZ Shadow was my choice and I don't regret it one bit. It is a great firearm, very easy to use and great for a new shooter. Also its just plain ###y, I look at it every so often just because its so great looking. The ergo's fit my larger hands very comfortably. The trigger is pull is amazing in SA. DA the pull is a big long but I don't mind it so much.

I have a CZ 22LR and love CZ Firearms to me they appear to be quality reliable firearms. I think there are a lot of fanboys out there for every gun maker. I did my research and this was my choice.
 
I only shoot IDPA and in our monthly matches I never exceed 300 rounds for the day. I dunno why there is a fuss how many rounds your gun goes thru before it needs cleaning, it doesn't take long and it aint that hard. How many rounds do IPSC guys shoot in a day? I also notice my guns are much cleaner using Titegroup vs W231, but none the less I clean all my guns if I expect them to be in my safe for more than a week. Do I need to? Probably not, but hey, who knows when a hoard of zombies will come rolling thru your hood.... then you just might need to unload the 5000 rounds of ammo in your back pack.

I have yet to shoot or handle a gun that is better or more accurate than my Shadow including my STI Trojan 9mm that I expected to be as accurate, but I consistently get tighter groups with the CZ. I think HK make very good duty firearms, they better be for the money. The milspec USP is probably one of the best duty pistols available but feels cheap IMO and is double the cost of a CZ for tupperware!!! - not a prosumer gun I would buy for competition. Armageddon.... maybe.... but I might even Akimbo a couple of Glocks for the same money.
 
SP01 SHADOW = AMAZING? I put a lightweight spring kit from Cajun Gun Works and its 6.2 DA and 3.1 SA. Cant complain about anything now...
 
not sure why all the hate for the cz's. they are the most commonly issued 9mm on the planet, made after the sig p210 which is known as the most accurate mass produced 9mm made, cz not far behind. put it in a ransom test and not many pistols come close, they are that good. they are way underrated for what they are, are not real popular in the U.S. strictly due to marketing. move outside the U.S. and you will often find great admiration for the cz 75 and variants. its one excellent pistol. no need to like it but no need to hate it it is what it is.

I wish this was also the case with Sigs as well, but no, we have to get the neutered American, made in U.S models.

Manfuctures. I know many of their big game rifles, are made in the USA. you can order one through one of the local reps, who then order from CZ, Czech, who then get them from CZ U.S.A. which sends to CZ Czech who then sends to CZ Canada who then sends to the customer. This goes for some rifles, and many shotguns, which are made in the good ole USA.
 
duzzy CZ Custom is owned in part by CZ and CZ USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of CZ. CZ rifles to my knowledge are not made in the good old USA, nor are their shotguns. CZ Custom assembles several specialty handguns for the US market and those can be imported by dealers here in Canada. I doubt there is a gun manufacturer in the good old USA who have the staff to produce rifles and shotguns with the same quality as CZ does in the Czech Republic.
 
Asbestos suit on, but assuming the CZ design(s) are good based on most posts here, what about the Norinco clones for those with tighter budgets? I've read a lot of posts re 1911 Norcs being almost every bit as good as brand name models and superior to some, so wonder if the same holds true for CZ clones. I'm not interested in hearing "just buy a real one" comments from brand name snobs, just sensible comparisons of quality and reliability, after all, if the design is spec it comes down to materials, etc. External finish is one area I expect to hear some negative comments on (same as heard on the 1911's).
Flame on but I seriously want to know.
