Good day,

I have been reading and trying to see if this has happened to anyone but I don't believe Ive found anything yet, if something like this exists already I am sorry and please can you point me into the right direction? Thanks in advance.

So I was out shooting today and I ran into a problem, I think a casing failed to eject from the action and now the bolt assembly is stuck. I think some how they have all snagged onto each other and I can't get them undone. There is a little wiggle but barely can move from the closed position. Does any one have any suggestions on how I can fix this at home or would I need to go and see a gun smith maybe?

Thanks.

You can try a hit with a plastic or rubber mallet?

Drive the bolt handle reward by smacking it against the edge of a workbench or a post. Alternatively, hold the rifle steady and use a 2x4 or rubber mallet on the bolt handle.

If a fired casing doesn't extract completely the bolt pushes it back into the chamber. Because the steel casing doesn't contract after firing as much as a brass case it can get stuck in pretty solid.

Same thing just happened to me today. I forced it open and the extractor ripped off a piece of the casing rim so I had to find a long rod, stick it in the barrel and very carefully hammer it back out. Good as new. I think it was just dirty residue from surplus ammo and heat that made it stick in there. Hope this helps

Like Stevo said take a 2x4 and a hammer and give it a good wack. Then when the rim rips off try to remove the spent casing first with a rod then if that dosn't work break out the tap set.

Kick starting it like a motorcycle can also work.

After such an incident it's a good sign that you need to clean the chamber real well with solvent and a brush. Surplus cases leave a lacquer residue that causes such jams.

spray oil all over the action from the top and the bottom
oil much the barrel from the muzzle, keeping the muzzle up.
insert a solid rod from the muzzle which go inside the fired case to his bottom.
than use a " maillet " and hit the protruding part of the rod.
Best way I know for a semi-auto.

I thought I had cleaned it the last time I was done with it, but i guess it needs more attention. Thanks for all the advice will try it later today. Have a happy easter.

i had the exact same issue, i had to take a solid cleaning rod (or other rod that is solid and will fit in the barrel) push on the action to open and whack the rod so the fired round will come out.
