CZ rifle ####

I really like CZ products, especially my CZ 452 Varmint.
Would like to add a 452 or 453 American and a 527 Varmint in .204 Ruger to the collection.

Hey eatred, how tall are those rings?
They look tall... really tall.
What are you feeding her , mine has yet to digest anything more than the Hornady 15.5grn test fired ammo.
I know the 452 shot the lights out with the 17 grain stuff, just looking for other results to measure against.
6mt, your nasty posting the evil twin pic Sir.
Rob

They are CZ "Tall" rings. The bolt still barely clears the scope.
I feed her 17gr V-Max CCI ammo. I make 5/8" groups with this at 100yds! It's is stupid accurate, I love my 455!!

No problem
Only other ammo I've tried was Winchester 20 gr hollow point. That produced over 1" at 100 and had multiple case ruptures. I'd stay away from those

Here's a couple of mine...............have a couple more without photos.

Background one is in 9.3X62 AKA 366 Wagner (it has killed an Atlantic Walrus) and the foreground one is either my 7X64 or 6.5X55

1987 production ZKK-602, 416 Rem Mag. Talley barrel band, barrel trimmed to 21.5", all assembled and glass bedded in a McMillan stock by David Henry. Warne rings and a Leupy 1.75-6X VX-III.

It's about the perfect dangerous game rifle setup... too bad they ain't some lions n buffalo n eleyphunts roamin' these here parts...

Here's some pic of my CZ 550 Safari Classic in 458wm

Not great pics, better ones are on my to do list.

I also have a CZ 452 varmint 17HMR that I will take some shots of for this thread in a couple days. Love CZ rifles and I definitely have a few more on my wish list!

It all depends on the scope you choose for your CZ or Brno rimfire bolt action. The two most preferred scopes for CZ are Leupold and Weaver rimfire scopes. They have the smallest eye piece were you can get away with medium high rings. With Bushnell Elite scopes, you can get away with high rings. Any other scope company you pick, especially Vortex because of their massive eye piece, you must use Extra high rings on a CZ or Brno to get it to clear the eye piece. The Bushnell Elites will work with high rings but just barely.

Example. CZ 455 FS with high leupold 11mm rings and Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40. The clearance is uncomfortably close to the eye piece but it does clear.

Put a Leupold 1" tube centerfire scope on there with adjustable parallax and you got a lot of extra room with high rings but you can't get away with mediums. Use a Leupold or Weaver rimfire scope and you can get away with mediums.

My Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 30mm tube fits perfectly on my 452 Varmint with a DIP rail and medium Burris Signature Zee rings. Not a whole lot of clearance for the bolt, but enough. I had to slide it forward for my own comfort, nothing to do with clearance issues.

I hope to get a centrefire Varmint to keep this one company ;) And will likely use similar scope set up.

I can finally post pics of my 527 as it decided to spend three weeks traveling around BC with Canada Post. It would seem that the wait was worth it. From the few dry fires, the trigger is CZ crisp and the set trigger is very light - we'll see how that works at the range. I measured it on my trigger scale and it breaks clean at 2.5 lbs and the set trigger at 1 lbs.

The walnut is naturally quite dark but the flash pics really show the grain.

I'm kind of surprised CZ centerfire rifles aren't more popular in Canada. Their pistol is pretty much king of the pistol club. The Brno/452/453/455 is highly regarded as the best value in a .22 bolt action. Their 512 is the most reliable and accurate semi auto .22LR and .22WMR out there. The shotgun's (not made by them but has their name on it) is the best lower end over/under shotguns out there. With this much popularity, why are their centerfire rifles not as popular? They're priced at the cost of a Sako A7 but its a 10 times better gun. I don't understand. I guess people like cheap ####. Or in the Sako A7's case, expensive ####.

Guns don't kill walrus, people with guns kill walrus.
