Cz s805

The poster says multicaliber rifle. I wonder if it means that one can swap calibers quickly or that it is produced in two different calibers. I am surprised that they will be making it in 7.62x39, but I like it. And the rifle looks nice too. Hopefully there would be a civilian version of it. Does anyone know what materials are being used in it?

I've read that it takes G36 Magazines. I've also read that it can be converted to 7.62x39 and 6.8mm with kits and that it was designed to be multi caliber convertible from the start. Since CZ makes the 858 with a Canada NR barrel I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for this one. It might not even be all that expensive. It would be nice to have another NR black rifle option.

Mother of Todd... looks like Christmas presents this year are going to be bought at the dollar store so I can save for one.

Wanting one has become obsolete, I now need one.

From this pic it looks like it has a mag well conversion so you can use AR mags.

PLEASE STOP POSTING ALL THESE #### PICTUES!! I am recovering from heart surgery and my ticker won't take this!!!!...................What a sweet looking unit. If it ended up unrestricted like my 858...nahhhh........don't even fantasize about that!! Bottom line--Wicked! Sign me up for one!!

Why the hell would we do that. Heavy barrels on the XCR is its biggest downfall I think way to front heavy. Put a light barrel on it so its better balanced.

Agree 100%, hate the heavy barrel thing. Never understood why that was so popular back in the 90s.

Medium barrels are as heavy as I would want to go but light barrels are better.

+1 on light barrels. The whole point of intermediate calibres is weight savings. I think a lot of those who prefer heavy barrels only shoot from a bench.

I would prefer medium fluted barrels.

Heavy barrels while they don't build up heat as fast do not cool as faster either. Good for a DMR or sustained fire role.

Thinner barrels heat up faster but also cool down faster.

The medium is perfect and fluting would only make it cool down faster and add barrel stiffness.

Becasue it costs less to make heavy barrel - and therefore all the AR manufacturers such as Bushmaster marketed it like gospel. Besides, in the old days people just sit at bench and stare at the groups. For CMP type compeition, heavy barrel makes sense - but CMP is just bullseye shooting at KD range.
