Having owned one bad CZ gun which I needed to send for warranty work I am now gun shy about buying another CZ. Dealers like yourselves should really tell CZ that they need to find a new place for warranty. I know in the warranty thread about CZ you guys mentioned that there maybe a change in who services CZ. Any update on that? Really want one of these but man the warrant work I am still waiting on has put me on pause for any CZ.

(Finally available for public consumption is the much anticipated Scorpion sub-gun. Imported as a pistol)

If it's imported as a pistol why are the mags pinned to 5 rnds ?

Because there are rifle and pistol versions, making the mags dual use and limited to the lesser of the two types... thus 5. As per the lab.

More importantly, if a pistol, is a handgun, and cannot be made non-restricted if registered as a handgun.

Once a handgun, always a handgun, and all handguns are restricted.

The CZ Scorpion is a CV (Commercial Version) of a SMG all SMG mags are limited to 5 rds. End of story, calling the Scorpion a rifle or pistol makes no difference.

Remember that Wolverine stands behind what we sell so we will not sell you a product and then wash our hands of any problem. CZ spare parts can be problematic to acquire in a timely manner from CZ.

As for changes in who services CZ, no comment, at this time! :)

How about ya don't advertise other vendors on our forum.

Thank ya kindly :)

Except there are FRT entries for a rifle.. and handgun... in commercial versions of the Skorpion. So the RCMP have said there is a difference.

Sub Machine Gun = Rifle.
Sub Machine Pistol = Handgun.

Can have commercial versions of both.

Both are still Commercial Variants of an SMG. If we had a way to have 10rd mags trust me we would pursue it. But there is no such luck.

I know.

Registration is the concern. With a rifle and a handgun FRT its up to CFL what they register it as.

I'd be worried about throwing around the word Pistol with the CFO at registration and transfer time.

No, not exactly due to different barrel lengths recorded on the FRT.

FRT 176222 is for a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Pistol with a 198 mm barrel.
FRT 136083 is for a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Carbine with a 196 mm barrel.

Barrel length will determine the FRT used by the importer when they register the firearm.
