Alright , so decided I needed a pistol caliber carbine, looked into an ar15 in 9mm , jr carbine , kriss vector, thureon defence but just was not impressed i love the sig sauer mpx but the price was a little out of my reach and then i came across the cz scorpion evo 3 S1 , at $1200.00 ( half the price of the sig sauer mpx )
first impressions
As we all know CZ makes a quality product , once i got it home and cleaned it up . which was fairly easy to do . disassembly is quick and easy , but make sure the charging handle is properly secured in case you slip while removing the bolt. it can sting a little . the magazine release is well placed and easily reached with your index finger , even if you have short stubby ones like my self , the safety is similar to those found on HK rifles .
the only real issue i had was the trigger pull , it was heavy and sloppy , but thanks to CTCS carrying the HB INDUSTRIES evo 3 trigger spring kit made that a simple issue to over come. the kit was very easy to install ( took about 20 mins and a beer )
the trigger now pulls at around the 5.5lbs mark , which is a huge improvement on the 9-10lbs oem trigger pull and it has less creep as well
Range date
got it out today at the range with a EOTECH 551 i had kicking around in the safe for a couple of years . just to try it out and i think it will have a permanent home on the EVO3
only got to put in 150 rounds after getting it sighted for 25 yards ( max distance available at my range) it was a dream to shoot except 2 things
1.) the mags dont drop free if the bolt it held open after the last round
2.) the stock could be a little more comfortable or they should have an option for a m4 stock adapter ( yes i did just got there )
all in all i am very please at the product and i am hoping for more aftermarket accessories to be available in the future
