Cz scorpion micro s2 release in Canada

1st post , just wondering if anyone knows if the cz scorpion micro s2 will be released in Canada ? Is rcmp testing ?

It doesn’t need any testing, just a child entry in the FRT. however if CZ measures the barrel right at 4.12” it’s too short unless it can be imported as a rifle.

You can clone one by importing the parts and an IWLT micro barrel (which is just barely long enough to convert a handgun.)

Thanks for the reply, so I guess it would be easier if CZ increased the barrel size by an inch to make a Canadian version. I thought the scorpion was classified as a rifle given its five round capacity. If I converted it to a hand gun wouldn’t I have to file paperwork and declare it as such? And I wouldn’t feel comfortable tearing apart a evo S1 and after ordering all the parts looking at somewhere near 1800 for the firearm , micro barrel , hand-guard , hand-stop, pistol brace and the Nospray faux suppressor .

Thanks again for the reply though is there a way to contact CZ directly? Or would it be better to call wolverines-supply or someone with a contact directly to them.

Unfortunately many of the 7.7” barrel imports are registered as handguns, thus they can never become NR and also can’t go below 105mm barrel. The micro is 104mm according to CZ marketing. If someone imported it with a stock as a rifle I guess it could fly, but they all have braces so you’d probably have to dump that and install a stock which runs afoul of US SBR laws.

I’d try wolverine, they may have already tried and deemed it impractical.

It's tough for the manufacturers to get this right.

Under USA laws; It's much better to call this a handgun.

Under Canadian laws; It's much better to call it a rifle.

It's difficult to do both simultaneously.

I wonder is this what would allow 10rd mags for its big brother?

Realistically, no. It would likely be classified as a rifle/variant of the already classified Scorpion.. which is considered a rifle and limited to 5 rds. The pistol brace has quite literally zero impact on it's classification in Canada.. the brace thing is purely US, avoiding NFA and tax stamps for what would be a short barrelled rifle.

The Scorpion is currently classified as a "commercial version". Not a rifle, not a pistol, 5 round mags and no barrel limitation.

It doesn't quite work that way... they consider them all a commercial version of the carbine, but some are registered as handguns and cannot be deregistered or go below 105mm barrel length.

So I have contacted Wolverine supplies and I’m awaiting a response probably tomorrow or Wednesday because of thanksgiving. (Also happy thanksgiving everyone). Also I found a picture of what the micro would look like with an extended barrel and it’s not pretty. At this point it might be better just to grab the S1 but I’m still hopeful something might work out. Maybe Santa Claus will provide a FRT number(child entry) for Christmas.

I don't think you need the pistol brace unless you're dead set on a direct clone for whatever reason. If you don't mind it being a bit longer the HBI micro conversion kit is 300 USD for black at the importer that shall not be named when in stock. Otherwise the handguard kit is 114 USD for black. The IWLT barrel is 180 USD but import fees are not cheap. Handstop is just part of a Magpul XTM which is $35 or so in Canada. The NoOsprey is a crapshoot for price from 30-80 USD on US forums, but can be tacked onto an import.

Amazing job man!! This is good info . I just feel like after the conversion from USD to CAD it’s going to be close 950 or 1000 give or take including shipping and taxes but I guess you gotta pay to play . Hopefully more info comes out soon about the s2 , maybe I find some of those Al V mags to make the s1 worth my while.

Soo I got a response from Wolverine supplies

“Good Morning,

At this time it does not look like we will be getting in that firearm but I am not sure about the possibility to bringing it in the future as well.

If there’s anything more I can do to assist please let me know and I’m more then happy to help.

As well my sincerest apologies on the delayed response, with Septembers TACCOM show taking a good portion of our staff away we have fallen a bit behind on emails. We are working diligently to get these caught up as quickly as possible and appreciate your understanding and patience with us on this one.”

So I guess that confirms that no one really knows when or if the s2 micro will come to Canada
