I like short rifles. I want to build a rimfire rifle similar to the size of the russian SV-99. I was thinking of using the CZ-scout as the foundation of this project since the barrel is already short. Are any "adult" shooter here using the CZ scout as their main rimfire gun? If so, what kind of accuracy will it give me at 100 yards with it's 16.2" barrel? It's either that or spending less and chopping up a Norinco JW-27. BTW, any opinions on the Norinco JW-27?:runaway:

I was thinking about getting a similar set up and had looked into buying the silhouette stock to replace the one on the 16 inch barreled scout. It would be a handy little rifle and everything that I have read about rimfire velocity indicates that it peaks at around a 16" barrel so it should be the best of both worlds, handy and good velocity. I may still do it but have been playing with my Biathalon 7-04 lately, which is basically the same gun as the SV99.

Good luck.

I have a M6 scout in 22Hornet with 3"mag 410 that goes everywhere with my wife and I when we kyak the west coast. I put slugs in the shotgun barrel as a quick second back up. I also put a laser on it for when it is dark and we are in the tent at night. I have chased away bears and cougars with shots in the air but have not had to shoot anything yet. A big shotgun even my 14" dalask arms 870 has too much weight for where we go and what we have to pack. I love my M6 and it is deadly accurate.
Anyhow that's my input buddy.
