I just finished my black badge course last weekend and and getting set up to start loading rounds for this years matches. I have picked up VV N320 and 124 gr, Frontier bullets, and cci SPP. I will be loading on a dillion 650 XL and was looking for a good starting point, Also when you are starting a load how many test rounds will you make? I have heard anywhere from 5 - 30

a couple of friends loads are the following i was going to try the first one but not sure because of him using that in in a 1911.

VV n320 3.9 gr
col 1.12
campro 124 gr

VV n320 3.5 gr
col 1.10
campro 147 gr

Thanks in advance

1) Always find your own OAL.

Here's how to determine your OAL: LINK

2) Both those charges are appropriate for their respective bullet weights. Chrono for exact numbers out of your Shadow 2.

3) 20 test rounds should give you a large enough sample size. For experimental load development (e.g. My 9mm WST load) I go with 5 rounds because I really don't know what to expect at first. When developing a load try to cover the data's load range in 0.2 gr increments (e.g. Data load range = 3.2 gr - 3.6 gr ---> 20 x 3.2 gr, 20 x 3.4 gr, 20 x 3.6 gr).
