CZ Shadow 2 FTE issues

My guess would be a faulty extractor. It really is too early for this part to go but it's not that expensive. Change the extractor spring while you're at it. At the worst you'll have a spare if this doesntvfix the problem.

I'm just a bit over 3k on my S2 and still going strong. From the pic, it looks like your extractor put a little nick on the rim of the brass. Maybe you have an extractor with a slightly undersized hook (grasping at straws here)? Could also be a broken or weak extractor spring? I'd check the extractor hook and see if it's not damaged and replace the spring like PR589 suggested. It certainly doesn't hurt to have a spare extractor in your parts kit too. If you shoot with thumbs high, you could be riding the slide as Slavex pointed out.

I've ordered my parts from IPSCstore dot eu if I can't find parts locally but Select Shooting Supplies is showing extra power extractor spring and extractors in stock. Add a spare slide stop while you're at it.

Make sure it is fully engaging the rim; if not, take it out and clean and lube it. If it is still not fully engaging the case, you can file a bit of relief behind the hook of the ejector allowing it to fully engage the rim. Do little bits at a time because it does not take much to move it a lot.

Order a new one, but keep shooting until it arrives.

check extractor spring, clean under extractor......and report back :)

My main Shadow SP-01 has over 50K on it and I never had such a problem :)

Also, take a closer look at the picture - your spent casing is catching on the following round (on the step between casing and bullet) - this might be a root of the problem :) check your mags....

Psychickitten, you are not alone in having FTExtract/Eject issues with the Shadow 2. I have a total of 275 rounds through my new CZ and have experienced 2 FTEs. Both incidents occurred with American Eagle 124 gr FMJ rounds. Both incidents had the just fired casing fully seated in the chamber with the follow-on live round jammed up against the chambered case. CCI Blazer 124 gr and Remington 115 gr rounds function OK.

I am disappointed in this pistol having such functionality issues so early in its lifespan. I expected better reliability from a CZ product than what I am facing. I will continue experimenting with various ammunition to catalogue the issue. In the meantime, please keep us informed of your progress.

yes dropping the slide on a round in the chamber is bad for the extractor, but the pics you posted of yours look okay.
I've had 9 Shadows with somewhere close to a million rounds through them, outside of breaking extractors during KBs I've not had an issue with FTEs. My Shadow 2 didn't even break the extractor with the KB I did in it (don't grab ammo marked DO NOT USE and then, um, use it, bad bad plan). My practice gun is inching closer to 80,000 rounds now, same extractor and extractor spring in it from new, I've done one recoil spring change (8lb recoil). My match gun, nearing 20,000 rounds and I did the recoil spring at the same time as the practice gun, also 8lb.
So, when I see people posting issues with their guns, the last thing I think is it's the gun, for me, it's far more likely to either be ammo, bad grip or home gunsmithing that results in issues. Next would be mags, and lastly gun.

amen !!!

I do a full detail clean sometimes after 10,000 rounds usually. Inspect everything and replace what needs to be replaced.
you could have just an out of tolerance part that was tolerance stacking things too much, resulting in your issues.
