Normally, I have no problem shooting a pistol set up with a right hand mag release. I have no problem operating it left handed. But on my newly acquired CZ Shadow 2, the oversized mag release digs into a finger when I shoot the pistol. What is the best option for fixing this? Swap it over to left position? How hard is this to do? Change the mag release button to something less prominent and leave it in current position?

it's pretty simple to swap out, but you need to have some skill. You'll want a flat tip screwdriver that is not tapered, but very straight and fits the screw in the trigger bar/mag catch spring. It's easiest to get to that by removing the sear cage and trigger bar. Remove the screw, lots of down pressure on the driver, and then remove the springs, flip the catch over, or replace with a regular Shadow one. Now put the springs back in, in the right order. When tightening the screw down use a punch to hold the right side of the trigger bar spring so that the screw doesn't twist the spring around. A good idea would be take some pics of the setup before you remove it so you can get it back to that. The screw is staked in, but I just use blue loctite when I put them back in.

Swap the monsterous mag release to the right side & standard CZ mags won't work. Thats due to the single mag cutout, so a swap means buying dedicated S2mags.
I like the Slavex idea. It could work.
The S2 is an outstanding pistol but has 3 downsides for superior Left-hand shooters: the mag release is too big, CZ downsized the front fibre optic front sight making it much smaller, & the right hand bilateral safety is too flat. Three issues to fix, otherwise I'd buy one.

Easy to cut a nother slot in the mag with a small cut off wheel, but I don't have a sh.2 so maybe that don't work, I thought the mags where the same.

Standard CZ mags will just fine if you swap the mag catch over to the other side, I mean if you're running current times, like the last 10 years or so. If you're still using old mags then yeah, you'll need to buy some new ones. If you install a regular Shadow mag you will need to do the bent spring thing to the mag catch spring so that it won't be able to pressed in too far and bind on the mags.

Finally got around to moving the mag release to the other side. Piece of cake to do, and worth it for a lefty. I didn't remove the trigger bar. I just cocked the hammer and there was clearance to access the head of the screw, and just enough clearance to remove it.
