I just put on a DoubleTap Dovetail optic plate on my Shadow 2. The installation didn't go well and it kept trying to jump out of the dovetail and beat up the aluminum pretty bad. First time out it came loose twice. I can buy another plate but afraid it will just do the same thing. Another option would be to have it milled for an optic, but then am I screwed if I ever want to go back to the original sights. Is it possible in Canada to buy an optic ready slide and just swap them? Is there an issue with doing this? Advice would be appreciated.

A dovetail optic plate places the optic high, and can act asa stress point breaking off.
Best thing to do with a regular s2 is mill it, its more sturdy and lower.
Blackbox Customs can advise on milling for an iron, but the stock dovetail is removed usually. A good machinist could make you a plate with dovetail for stock sights too but thats time and $ which you could use to try to find an optics ready slide or sell your gun and get an OR.
