Need some knowledge on how best to adjust the rear sight for windage on my CZ Shadow 2. It is grouping slightly to the left. Factory target also grouped to the left and early reports from some CGN'ers report the same.

Elevation is obviously a simple adjustment on the Shadow 2 rear sight. Windage however looks like you have to loosen the 2 small set screws on the top of the sight, then using a brass or non marring punch drift the rear sight slightly (in my case) to the right. Once you are sighted in I assume you can tighten the 2 small screws at the top, maybe with a bit of Locktite.

This would be my guess, but want to confirm windage adjustments with someone on CGN that knows for sure before i do something silly. What looks to be a small rod that runs horizontally through the rear sight has me thinking it may have something to do with the sights windage adjustment. But it's not obvious to me how. Any knowledgable help much appreciated.

I know we are all men here. And real men don't read instructions. But perhaps if you sneak a peek at the owner's manual when no one is looking? Page 9?

So loosen the two set screws to allow windage adjustment. Elevation is done with the other slotted screw. The pin you see is the pivot pin for the movable bit at the rear with the notch.

A small fine pencil line mark that crosses from the sight body to the slide can be used as a witness mark to gauge your degree of windage movement. Or make a small pencil mark on the sight that lines up with a ridge or other feature on the top of the slide to do the same thing before you loosen up the set screws.

Hint, things like set screws always take more torque to snap them loose later on than it does to tighten them. So don't snug them back down to the same degree that it takes to snap them loose. It'll be TOO much and you risk stripping out the hex the next time. Use about half as much as it takes to snap them loose.

The regular mantra for sight adjustment is to move the rear towards the direction desired to shift the POI. Move the front opposite to the required shift of POI. But the Shadows use pinned front sights so they can't be moved.

Once you confirm that you've got them where you want them, take one out at a time and either blue locktite or clear nail polish down into the hole and onto the threads. Wipe away excess as you tighten

Great info! Thanks a bunch BCRider and AHiltz!

Figured this was how to do it but that horizontal rod made me hesitant to give it a try until I confirmed.

And yes, agree, first read should always be the manual. However I left it at the cottage last wknd:) unread of course:)
