Put 400 rounds through it yesterday and have to say I am very impressed by the accuracy and feel of this gun.

If anyone is considering one (as I had been for the last few months) I say go for it you will not regret it!

Can't wait for Black Badge!

Here is a shameless pic of my new acquisition:

Blahopřejeme! (congrats in Czech - at least Google said it was)

It really is a nice gun. I'm happy I decided on that one as well.

The Kadet Kit is an awesome companion, if you're at all interested in a .22 with the same graceful operation.

I like my Shadow a lot but I feel like it's a little bit overrated. When I shot my friends I was shooting his 147grain ammo through his unmodified Shadow and it was quite nice. I'm shooting 124grain through mine and although the pistol feels great I prefer my Sig 226. It's just a more comfortable shooter. I plan on doing lots more dry firing with the Shadow and taking it for another spin this weekend against the Sig 226.

Zero ftf or fte's. Cleaned before shooting, took to range, 400rds then home and wiped down= ready for next trip.

SIG's are good but for the price of this, I don't think it can be beat. (and I actually like my Glock ;) )

Never liked how thin the top slide is. Always found it awkward sling shooting the slide back after a mag change.

I have skinny little alien fingers so I don't have a problem with the slide!!

For clam shelling though it gets a bit awkward so I find I'm using the slide catch to close the slide (so, shoot me) on those quick reloads while I'm already lined up at the next station.

Yup you are correct and it happens with all ammo. Out of 10 rounds shot it doesn't strike hard enough on about half. Very annoying.

Try cleaning around the hammer with a shot of brake cleaner and relube with just a very little bit of light weight oil. Sometimes the visous drag of too much and too thick an oil will act like a shock absorber to reduce the final velocity of the hammer. It's like the difference between waving your arm in air to waving it under water.

In the end though if you still have misfires try finding a little bit of metal or hard plastic tubing that will fit over the shaft of the spring guide before you slip the spring into place so that it puts just a little bit more preload into the spring. You won't need much. Maybe 1/8 to 3/16 inch at most. And it'll need to be a small diameter to avoid fouling against the frame or mag guide. Check for any sign of touching of the shim before you replace the grips.

A Shadow was my first firearm. And it's been a fantastic shooter for me. If for some reason I had to sell off all my guns except for one it would come down to the Shadow in one hand and my S&W Model 19 in the other and then my brain would go into meltdown trying to decide. It may be blasphamy but I'd have no trouble letting the 1911 in .45ACP go but the Shadow stays.

Probably good advise but it's the #13 main spring that's the issue and not anything else. This was with my sold CZ85C. I switched back to the factory main spring and it cycled and fired fine.

That sounds like correlation to me. By the way, how is the #13 main spring working out for you?

bollox,
Nice Shadow. It will serve long and well. I use a Kadet Kit on a 75B and it performs without a hitch.
