Cz shadow open pistol

Has anyone converted their SP-01 Shadow into an 9mm major open pistol? I'm curious what it takes and how much it costs? Is it worth while?
It's seems to me that the shadow would be a prime candidate for this.

A reasonable course of action no doubt. I have yet to do a cost breakdown for fully customizing a shadow vs buying the race gun, it's up to you OP

I should also mention that Canada has received Czechmates based on both TS frames and 75 frames, so if you like the 75 frame more there are Czechmates out there in that style.

Czechmates are expensive and as i understand, have problems with barrel breakage.

They fixed that issue a few years back

My IPSC partner owns 2 (one is a parrot) What I can say without a doubt is, it will feed any ammo you give it, minor, major, or factory. It works every time, right out of the box, no tweaking and doesn't seem to break parts (his round count isn't crazy high, maybe 30K)
The most impressive Open gun I've ever shot, and I've shot quite a few.

If you like heavy all steel guns like CZ's and Tangs and things that actually work, you'll love it.

I have held one and that's it. The czechmate felt and looks very cool. I have spoken with a guy who uses one and he said "if it breaks again i'll buy something else".

The original gen Czechmates came with 2 barrels. They later beefed up the barrel lug to prevent the breakage issue.
Newer ones come with only one barrel. Also comes with 4 extra slide stops and pins (although my friend had never broken one) and 4 mags from factory is kinda nice.

Take a look at CZ Custom, they have a new site specific for their customized guns, http://czcustomguns.com/
I imported a CZ custom through A Z T E C H Armory...... smooth process

If I were going to do such a thing I'd want to start with one of the SA only models to get the shorter stroke trigger. Or if you insist on starting with a Shadow for the extra weight in the full bodied dust cover then you'll want to buy the parts needed to do the SA only conversion.


But then an SA only trigger and action is only the beginning. You'll need a new barrel and host of other things. It'll get expensive in a hurry.
