Hello,

Just have a question about recoil spring. After I field stripped my new Shadow I noticed that it’s very hard to remove recoil spring from the recoil spring rod.
Spring is not symmetrical, one end is wider compared to another, so they put narrower end against rod and spring got stuck because it fits pretty tight.
To put it back I just flipped spring around, placing wider end against rod. Gun seems to perform correctly after.

What is correct direction for that spring ? Why that happens at first place ?

Thanks in advance.

I would have to go look but I have 4 recoil springs and have never noticed a taper or narrower end? The gun comes with two springs check to see if the other one is the same.

I have torn my gun down numerous times and it can"t be luck that I put the spring on right! Something isn't right.

Some springs have a narrower end, does not do anything to the reliability, it's just less trouble if you "lock" it to the guide rod. Usually, you can "screw" it to the guide rod
