CZ Shadow SP-01 @ the range *Suggestions Wanted*

I'm not sure if your grip needs to be tighter or just adjusted. But the key is that you should not be needing to adjust your hands frequently between shots. Most guys tend to hold with the proper or even too strong a grip. So I'm thinking that you may need to adjust how your hands fold together over the gun.

Go look at Travis Haley's video on handgun gripping on You Tube. Pay particular attention to matching the way he indicates his support hand fits down into the openings of the strong hand's grip. It's how your support hand fits into the hollows left by the strong hand that really counts for a lot. Along with that again pay attention to duplicating the odd cocked angle of the support hand's wrist that allows the support hand's thumb to ride up really high on the side of the gun.

There's also a Todd Jarret promo video for one of his DVD's. But in that 90 seconds a lot of great hints speed by. Look up that one as well and catch the ones related to the way the support hand fits down into the hollows left by the strong hand and take note of his emphasis on the wrist angle.

Your group is nice and tight and shooting to the proper elevation. So it's not a flinch issue. Or at least it sure doesn't look like one. If it is it's a darn small amount of flinch.

Instead I'm thinking that you're just trying to ride the trigger too far out on the finger tip. That's fine on my 1911's but doesn't work on my Shadow. Try letting the trigger run in so it's sitting just on the other side of the quick of your fingernail. Sort of in the soft spot between the hard cartilage pad on the tip and the bump of the last joint.

Or if you have fairly short fingers then try to get a hair more of a hook on the last joint so the tip is sitting more square onto the trigger.

Riding the trigger on the tip pad of our fingers is more of a 1911'ish thing. And certainly those guns do well with them that way. But for me and folks like me the CZ seems to like the traigger to run a little bit further back so it doesn't push the gun slightly to the left like you're getting. In particular with the distance and the small shift to the left you're getting I'm thinking this is just a case of finding that sweet spot on your finger.

Try some dry firing in SA mode and really watch the front sight for any sign of a kick to the left at the break. It won't be much because you're actually doing just fine. But if you're really watching I bet you see it kick just a hair. Even if it sort of just wiggles at the break I bet it's wiggling more to the left than it is evenly. And that's all it takes for the amount of shift you're getting.

OP,
You are either a perfectionist, looking for compliments or both! LOL!
First time? 10M? Fairly rapid cadence of fire? That is a nice grouping! Of course, the trigger on the SP-01 really helps!
Can't really see your trigger finger but maybe work on visualizing the trigger going straight back rather than pushing it ( shots to the left) or pulling it ( shots to the right) for a rt. hander.
If you didn't change a thing, you already outshoot more than 80% of people out there!
+1!
Nothing wrong with the targets, actually the targets are almost perfect if shot at 10 meters/yards!
