Hi all, a friend shooting a Shadow last night had a number of stoppages when the trigger would fail to go all the way back to reset. Looked pretty clean inside and nothing obvious going on. Any ideas?

If it is an aftermarket trigger with adjustment screws, you can check the screw that limits the trigger travel like the Cajun triggers.
Can’t say anything about the trigger spring broken as I never had this experience but should be easy to check

The gun is virtually new. Less than 1000 rounds for sure. Would the TRS go that quick? Also, with some fiddling we could get it to reset and it would run fine for a while, How would I know if the spring is broken without disassembly?

If you can fiddle it, and it works, TRS is fine. If it was broken, it wouldn’t work at all

Sounds like some debris inside, give it a good cleaning or soak in a sonic cleaner

Thanks all. The problem was reproducible but it was getting dark and my eyes couldn't see any trouble. Hasn't been disassembled because she's a fairly new shooter and isn't comfortable going further than field strip.
I intend to have a look at it this weekend for her.

What happens when you go further then field stripping? Does the firearm spontaneously implode creating a black hole? lol. Let her take it apart and learn (teach a man [person] to fish...). If something goes wrong you can help put it back together properly.

Check that the horseshoe spring under the trigger bar isn’t bent out or in too much. It should ride smoothly in the grooves under the trigger bar.
