So, I just bought a Shadow and already I'm thinking about upgrades:). So could you CZ owners, maybe help me with a list of upgrades. It's not going to be used for comp but I would like to soup it up a bit. Trigger and sights first. Also , where might I buy these parts.

Thanks for any help offered.

First change I made to my shadow was to put grip tape on the front strap then I put in a 13lb main spring this lowered the DA pull considerably. After that I put in a competition hammer which also drastically helped the DA pull mine is currently just shy of 7lbs, to go with that I put in the drop in short disconnector this helped a lot with the single action reset. I personally like the sights that it came with so not planning changing them I did consider an adjustable rear but haven't really found a need for it. I keep a spare trigger return spring and slide stop in my range bag as I heard that these parts can be prone to breaking but I haven't need them yet. I tried a set of aluminum grips but didn't like them I prefer the standard rubber grips. At this point I am happy with mine and don't plan on making any further changes other than a set of thin safeties if I can find them. I got my parts from a-zone.ca I am not aware of any board sponsors that stock these items but I could be wrong.

I've upgraded to competition hammer and swapped springs out. I wasn't sold on the disconnector until recently playing with a Shadow that had one. I'll make that change during the next off season. It's a nice touch if you shoot competitively.

Most parts are plug n play. I personally had to take a couple thou off of the horn on the back side of my sear to engage the safety.

If you run into this and want a hand, feel free to pm me!

I'll run it for a bit, but I know I'll be doing some upgrades. I'll definitely want a a light crisp trigger(3.5 to 4 lbs). No creep and a short reset. Also I'll for sure want an adjustable rear sight to match the existing front ( fibre op) sight.

This. If you do nothing else, do this. Cheap and easy, and you'll love the results.

So , I've found the parts (CZ custom) for the most part anyway. I can't find a pre-B disconnecter though. Also what would the difference be from the 11.5 lb to the 13 lb main spring be? And what adjustable back sight would match my existing front sight? Or should I replace both?

Try Select Shooting Supplies for the pre-B disconnector. They have them in stock now but they don't last long.

Changing the main spring will reduce your pull weight, most notably in double action. Can't help with the sight question.

Thanks. Any idea of the weight reduction between 11 or 13 lb spring?

massive difference to the 11.5lb spring, but it's not production legal. CZ doesn't sell the 11lb anymore (so I have to keep moving mine to new guns). 13lb works, especially with hard primers. you can even run 8.5lb if you use Fed primers, but again, not PD legal and usually won't make the 5lb trigger pull limit either. I use that in my Steel Gun
