do i buy genuine cz or are mec gar good? what kind of price should I be paying. I see some prices all over the map. .and who has good prices and reliable stock.

thanks

My shadow 2 came with the mec gar mags, no issue whatsoever with any. If CZ is willing to sell it with a factory product, I wouldnt every worry about it not functioning well.

Bullseye north has them as well individually for I think 46 each.

The Mec-Gar mags seem easier to disassemble / reassemble than the factory CZ mags that I have, plus they seem more durable. I prefer the Mec-Gar mags personally.

Tanfoglio mags are superior IMHO.

When my wife and i were shooting IPSC we had issues with the CZ mags long baseplate that limits the mags to 10 becoming loose causing mags not to drop free.

Are you talking about the ones with the goofy plastic basepads that take up 1/4 of the length of the mag, with the short metal bodies? Those are not what the guns ship with anymore.

Mecgars are the best IMO. The ease of disassembly and reliability make them way better than the Tanfoglio mags.

MecGar makes the factory mags for CZ for both the Shadow and the Shadow 2. If you're seeing those crap 1/3 plastic mags still, they are old old stock that should just be tossed out. The MecGar mags are superior in every way to those old mags, which is why CZ went with them a few years back for the Shadow 2 and Shadow.
Do not buy the Tanfo mags, get the MecGar ones for CZ, if you're a lefty you can't swap your mag catch and have it work with the Tanfos, and, the mag catch slots aren't in the exact same place for right handed shooters either, which can lead to issues with the mag being over inserted and hitting the ejector, causing it break if it happens enough.
