Pat,

We e-mailed our supplier yesterday inquiring about this model with orange grips. As soon as I have more information we will get back to you. Your patience is appreciated.

anyone buy one of these yet???

They can't be found in Canada yet in their original format. All the new 2012 models (hand fitted barrell etc...) are being pimped out as Canadian models before they come into the country. I'm working hard on trying to get one that's not been transformed into the Canadian model.

Sorry, I was referring to the Canadian model ... I quite like the look, just want to confirm its got a much better da trigger than the original, and better fitting

CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW 2012 $1850.00

(Yes, that is right, $1850.00. This includes the orange aluminum grips and upgrades listed below.)

The CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW 2012 pistol differs in new procedures and operations added as a part of the serial production process (e.g. the manual fitting of the barrel, the lateral definition of the free movement of the bolt and the sophisticated trigger mechanism). The gun has a burnished barrel and its "orange 2012" name is based principally on its long thin and aluminium grips of that colour. The weapon is presented in an identical case to that of the CZ 75 TS CZECHMATE.

Features:
•handmade barrel matching and precise slide side setting
•Improved trigger mechanism
•polished barrel
•metal polished recoil spring guide
•polished recoil spring + recoil spring set (13 lbs. And 11 lbs.)
•Polished main spring + main spring set (13 lbs. And 16 lbs.)
•Buffer set (3x thick, 2x thin)
•orange grips - thin, long (aluminium)
•3x magazine with aluminium magazine bottom (orange)
•defender type rear sights and red fiber optic front sight 5,5 x 2,5 x 1 mm
•newly designed sa/da hammer
•cleaning oil, loader, cd, polymer case
•better shooting comfort, increased accuracy.
•more stable recoil during shooting. Parts service life increased.
•smooth and precise trigger mechanism.

Thanks for your reply. An extra $1000. Wow. Not worth it in my view. Do you know why it's so much more than the Canadian model which is the same pistol except for sights, grips and pads. If anything I would expect it to be cheaper seeing as its not been pimped out all Canadian. Just doesn't make sense. Anyway thanks for making my mind up for me. Regular shadow with combat hammer here I come !!!!

Packas is making a good point here.

So, CZ takes a Shadow Canadian Edition replaces the red grips with orange ones, plus sights and pads and we get it at 1800 CAD compared to 1099 CAD (both prices for blued guns at Wolverine)?

Please Wolverine, it is time to see side by side the specifications of the Canadian Shadow with the 2012 Shadow with orange grips!

You can buy base shadows for $750 plus tax new, not just wolverines $1099

Thanks. I'm really lost as to why the orange gripped 2012 model is $1850
Vince Pinto (IPAC secretary) confirmed with CZ that the Canadian model is the 2012 model wih different grips and sights.

Wolverine, do you know why the the regular 2012 model is so expensive ($1850)
Is your canadaon model for $1099 the 2012 model or the regular shadow?

We have the base Shadow in stock for $785.00

The difficulty in confirming specs on these guys is due to lack of information provided by our suppliers.

There are three different Canadian Shadow models. Our understanding is the Canadian "MT" model otherwise known as the "Upgrade Model" (not currently in stock) is the 2012 Shadow with Canadian grips.

Having not seen the 2012 Shadow Model with Orange grips we cannot confirm the configuration.

As we get more information we will post it here.

Is "MT" marked anywhere on this Canadian "Upgrade Model"?

With three Canadian Shadow models on the market and no clear way to identify them it's too confusing. You may think you bought a superior model and in fact you may get a normal Shadow with some red grips.

X2 above...if someone could clarify which is the upgraded model I'd buy one. Looking for the stainless guide rod, hand fitted frame/slide, polished barrel (?), etc
