Gentleman and Ladies,

I am concerned with some of the threads.
I just purchased a fine CZ SP-01 Shadow with the intend and understanding that I was in full compliance with the Ontario IPSC standard class.
Could someone with a good reputation answer this question so I may come to terms or at rest with the official answer?
I was hopping that I would receive a consistant level of support or answers by joining this Form.
As a person (me) with a small budget you have to forgive me, if I can’t just buy another IPSC firearm.
I hope to receive a official answer.
Sincerely,

H.E.J. Tempelman.

The CZ shadow would be legal in Prod and Stadard (or Open for that matter)

It's best suited for Production...but you could use it in Standard as well (just don't decock for the first shot and use the safety)

What caliber is it? You need .40 cal or higher in Stanard to make Major Power Factor...

If yo have a 9 mil...you can still use it in Standard but you will be shooting Minor.

In production...this would be a "top shelf" gun...

In Standard...you'll have just as much fun...but you'll be racing against guns better suited for the Division...

Cheers

Just FYI:

"class" = GrandMaster, Master, A, B, C, D

"division" = Open, Standard, Production, Modified, Revolver Standard...

Those are not interchangable ;) Use them correctly ;)

it's fairly simple..

If you bought it from CZ USA Custom shop , then NOPE.

If you bought it anywhere else.. then YES (unless they originally bought it from CZ USA Custom Shop).

It has to do with the fact that the CZ usa shop, doesn't just "add OFM parts" they also do a custom trigger job, which is a No-No for production. Since they can't tell which ones would come from his shop with/without a trigger job, then they decided to no accept any of them that came from the shop.

Basically
Direct from Factory SP01 Shadow = Good.
Angus' version of the SP01 Shadow = <Big red alarm!>

An RO CAN tell the difference......CZUB version from factory has Shadow on the side of the slide, the CZ USA version does not

So, whats the difference between a regular SP-01 with OFM parts (production legal), and CZ
SP-01 shadow (Not production legal, from angus?)

are they both missing the "shadow" from the frame??

Yes.

All the worked CZUSA guns have "Kansas City, Kansas" engraved on them.
(At least until Angus reads this... ;):D )

Cz Sp01

the reason a regular SP01 with all the approved OFM parts installed is production legal and the CZ-USA version is not is that the CZ USA version (from Angus) has extra work done namely: tuned trigger components, Re profiled and polished disconnector and associated surfaces, and polished underside of disconnector rail and break of the breach face edge.

The SP01 Shadow is legal in PD. It is stamped SP01 Shadow on the slide.

The regular/tactical SP01 with tricked out CZ USA/Shadow stuff on it is legal as well.

The SP01 Custom Shop is not legal in PD. It is stamped Custom Shop on the slide. Reason given for not being legal is the trigger job that Angus adds to the package. Other than the trigger job they are a regular SP01 with tricked out CZ USA/Shadow stuff on them.

For all PD legal optional addons for the 75/85 series CZ pistols look here:

you still have to aim it, you still have to shoot it, still have to reload it, still have to run with it, etc.

Just find a gun which fits your hand well, and use that. If that happens to be an SP01 variant, great, if it's beretta, sure, if something else, get that...
