Hey guys! I've been looking at getting a CZ sp-01 shadow but my local dealer just got in the shadow line. It's about $300 more expensive and I was curious as to whether or not its worth the extra money for what you get? I'm a new shooter so anything so any advice would help?

I'm sure others will chime in about what this means in practice. the guys at crafm told me it was definitely worth it but that was when the price difference was 50. 300 is a much bigger price difference then there was 6 months ago. I would imagine some of the price diff is in the grips and many prefer the rubber grips of the regular shadow

So where do they have the shadow line exactly?
I'm no expert on them, but I did notice a slight difference when I compared the 2 brand new. Not being a fan of the grips on the Shadow anyway, and liking the look of the 75 more, I bought the 75 Shadowline. If you've found a SP-01 Shadowline I'd say get it as they are very few and far between.
I can tell you that this is one incredible pistol, even out of the box. But being a new shooter, I don't know if you'll notice the difference until you've shot it a lot more. I'd say go with whatever one feels better in your hand for a start. That being said I put the Hogue grip on mine (big hands) and I've never held a more comfortable pistol.

Have the shadow myself..... Love the feel of the rubber grips, although to be honest I've got the skinny alluminum grips with grip tape on now.....they're awesome.. Read somewhere here that the shadow line wasn't worth the extra cash, but I've never shot one..

I have a SP01 Shadowline. I had the chance of buying it new about a week before my local store raised the prices A LOT.
It is a great pistol. I would highly recommend it. Very accurate, great trigger and cycles perfectly. Though I can't compare to the Shadow.

Shadow Line all the way!
With some time spent polishing the internals (thanks Brian Enos forum) this gun shoots like a dream. I made all my Shadow buddies jealous and now they are trying to buy parts to make theirs the same.

$ 50 difference between a regular Shadow and Shadowline at least last February when I got mine from CRAFM. Worth it? Definitely yes. Al thin grips is at least $ 80. Trigger Job from a reputable gunsmith is $ 100-$150. You lose 1 magazine instead of 3 from a regular shadow which for me is no big deal. Tanfoglio magazines are recommended by most shooters to be better than OEM CZ mags. Even Mec Gar seems to be good. But for $300 difference, it is definitely gouging. The problem is, the law of supply and demand kicks in whenever there is inadequate supply of anything that is in demand. Dealers will sell for more and consumers still buys it.
If you are not in a hurry, check out online dealers and call whoever might have them. Some dealers do not have real-time inventory updates. It was mentioned that price will go up due to losses by CAD $. Yes, CAD $ lost 10%, but this should not translate to 30% price increase.
