CZ sp-01 shadow line Vs. Shadow?

what's your thought's on the pricing/value of the Flahertys Canadian editions?
how much were they when they first came on the market?

I would think that, if this is a new shipment into Canada, other suppliers will also have them shortly. do you think Dante's and Flaherty's kept them locked up for a couple of years to justify higher prices?

Pricing on the Canadians is challenging as there have been a few different variants.
Eg
-while all versions are 'tuned' some more so than others,
-some have rear fiber optic sights (usually the highest tuned versions)
-older versions had standard shadow hammers, newer versions have competition hammers,
-some units included the original rubber shadow grips, some didn't,
-some didn't come with red al base pads on the mags.

In terms of price I've seen the range from 1100 a few years ago (those prices are long gone) to 1300-1500 for the ' standard' versions, to 1700-1800 for ones claiming to be the most finely tuned.

These are all just my general observations of course. No doubt others will have more knowledge of the variants. You may get some better info if you talk to a dealer

I paid $1,150 for my Canadian Edition stainless in Dec.2012. Factory trigger job makes it marginally better than a regular Shadow, so you may have to spend more $$ on a real trigger job - I did.

In my pistol, Tanfoglio mags do not drop when in slide-lock while CZ OEM mags work OK. My regular 2009 Shadow never had a problem with Tanfo mags.

Overall, I like the Canadian edition better than regular Shadow, but I would not have paid $1,600 for it - I would go with a Stock 3 instead.

P.S. Mine did come with competition hammer, red aluminum grips, and red basepads. The basepads are a PITA if you need to strip the mag quickly, they require an Allen key.

Bumping this thread to add a little ShadowLine info. I found out the hard way that the CZ 75 SP01 Shadowline has the extra length firing pin in it from factory.

You are lucky. My CZ75 SP01 Shadowline has the standard length Firing Pin. I have to change to the extended length in case I use CCI primers. No problem with Winchester and Federal SPPs.
I hane not encountered any problem with CCI before the change, but I do have a patchy experience with CCI SPPs on my stock 85 Combat before I did the basic upgrades (Ext F pin, reduced power mainspring and reduced power recoil spring >>> no trigger job)

ambi, if you have both pins, can you measure and post the lengths? It's also possible that the store sold me regular length firing pins even though I asked for extended.

I don't like the flat safety on the Shadowline because I like to put my thumb on the safety, especially when shooting one handed. It just depends on what you like....

smiley, I hear you. Personally I had a few problems on one handed courses of fire where I accidentally engaged the safety, and the Line's flat safety eliminates that problem.
