I've been on the fence about the cz tactical sport for about 2 years since I laid eyes on it two years ago at Tse. Rapid firing wasn't really my thing till recently so I've decided to look into getting one. I contacted one of my local dealers today and found that the CZ tactical sport package isn't the same anymore. If I remember correctly (checked with my buddy too), the CZ tactical sport packages from back in the day came with a variety of mags (4 or 5), aluminium mag well, and most importantly, a set of those fine aluminium thin grips in either red or blue. Did CZ decide to change up the package? Well the price is the same as before but with less goodies...

Oh the current package comes with 2 mags, no mag well, and wood grips I'm indefinitely switching out..

Can any cz fanatics clarify this?

For as long as I'm aware, its always been 3 magazines with buffers and 3 extra slide stops, cleaning kit, blue case, etc.

However, I do recall CRAFM had done a sale on them for regular price including the slim aluminum grips. I'm not entirely sure what the magwell was, if it was aftermarket or factory.

I think all packages of recent include the plastic factory magwell. Unfortunately, a plastic SA trigger too.

Ordered mine last year (June)from Cedar Valley. Came with 3 mags , buffers 3 stops and was supposed to come with extra magwell and thin grips. Just got the thin grips and extra mag well 3 weeks ago. Problem was the new ones did not ship with them but advertised with them included. Was stand up guy at Cedar Valley and did get the other parts but took forever!

That's what I'm afraid to hear... It'd be much nicer if they came in a kit again. Now I have to go source all the other parts and wait for the damn shipping

Oh no, that will be my next pistol!

Took it to range yesterday so a bit dirty as I worked out a load for it (1.133 COL, 4.6 grns titegroup,180Grn. fmj tc)

Cheers

Mine came with aluminum mag well, with thin aluminum grips with the spacers to accept the small frame CZ75 .40 cal mags. There was a bore rod, and maybe a mag loader, that's it. There were no buffers, extractor, or slide stops. Bought it from a local dealer in fall of 2011.

Quite a difference with the slim aluminum grips. Its a wide frame gun. I Like the larger magwell also. I have heard that it will not fit into the IPSC box with this setup. Can anyone confirm? I dont have a box to measure.

Sure is a nice looking firearm. Thanks for the photos Mr. Bean.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but...

Would you care to elaborate on yours? Pleased with the accuracy? Build quality?

I've been contemplating one of these for ages, feel like I'm ready to commit. I can't imagine id be disappointed.

I have about 500 rounds through it now. Not even close to broken in. Trigger is excellent. small take up and crisp release. I don't have a trigger scale but I have heard around the 2 lbs mark and I think this is close. Fixed sights are OK. I painted the front fluorescent green to help my old eyes pick it up. I like this mod a lot. When I tested my loads the gun could shoot 1.5 " @ 12 yds and 3" @ 25 yds. I am not the best shot so I think I am the weakest link here. Its a big gun so recoil is well mitigated and follow up shots are pretty easy.

The gun is tight, no slop between slide and frame. The slide is kind of skinny and you have to grasp firmly to rack it, especially if in a hurry during a course of fire. I have a CZ shadow and a CZ 85C both 9mm. I have about 5K rounds through Shadow with ZERO malfunctions. I wanted a .40 and considered the Edge. Everyone and his dog has an Edge in IPSC so I stuck to CZ . Gotta be me! I like it a lot and shot 1 practice night and and couple times at range and last week to find a good load for it. Never had a malfunction of any kind. All in with the 6 mags, I have about $1450. An Edge starts at ~$2000 plus mags. IMHO they don't shoot any better. Time will tell.

If you can find one, get one. Spare parts and mags can be an issue to find but some sponsors above have them from time to time, as well as CZ USA.

I have a course with Todd Jarrett in June and have to load ~2K rounds for that. Can't wait!!

Cheers and hope I did not Hijack the OP's thread.

I seem to recall that you needed the lower profile adjustable sights in order to fit the box with the larger magwell. I could be mistaken.

i was actually disappointed this pistol didnt come with fibre optics... what would you guys recommend looking to swap out? I primarily shoot 9mm so i was thinking about doing standard division (if i get around to getting black badge...) with minor scoring.

I was afraid it would not fit into the IPSC box when I bought it so I ordered the adjustible rear sight and 1mm fiber optic front from CZ usa. Have not installed it yet because I like the big green blade. However if too big for the box with factory sights and larger magwell, I will put them on. I know they are able to fit into the box. I guess I could use the smaller magwell. Decisions Decisions!

I saw one with blue aluminum grips at Italian Sporting Goods in Vancouver a couple weeks ago last time I was in... not sure if it's still there but it was was....
