I'm toying with the idea of improving my Shadow's trigger.

Who would carry this type of part, and what suggestions may any of you have?

I'm not planning on any competition stuff, just looking to improve the feel and performance.

Thanks in advance

All you need is a 13lb mainspring and dry fire/shoot the pistol. There is no other part that is going to really improve the trigger anymore than it already is unless you want to make it into a SAO. The only thing I am waiting on is for the CZ custom shop to make a short reset trigger kit available for end users.

a competition hammer will lighten the trigger pull but the 13# mainspring will lighten it 2x more... for less

begin with the spring and if you want more, change the hammer.

more than that will require some polishing on the sear group

Hello Pistolwhiptricks or Snowboy:

You seem to know about the CZ SP-01. If you would, I've got a CZ 75 Tactical 9mm coming through eventually and I've heard that because of its decocker, that the trigger is not as nice or as smooth as the Shadow. If this is the case, what would someone have to do to the Tactical trigger to bring it up to Shadow quality and what would the cost be?

Thanks

When you get around to doing this, this link will help: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?556160-Cz-sp-01/page7
Also, contact member "Ceezer" here- as far as I know, he still sells CZ springs and parts.

I never looked at a CZ75 Tactical but when a gun has a decocker and / or a firing pin block, it has more moving parts thus increasing the trigger pull or changing the "feel", so you won't be able to have the same as a gun that has none but there should be a way to improve it anyways. The Shadow is a variation of the SP01 without the firing pin block to obtain a lighter trigger pull.

This is how I did it on my 75B and my Kadet:

http://czechpistols82792.yuku.com/topic/12683/t/CZ-75-Trigger-job-lots-of-pics.html

The result was a ~3lb SA trigger with stock mainsprings.

Both of my pistols had excessive sear/hammer engagement such that the sear actually cammed the hammer backwards prior to release. I'm not sure how the Shadow's hammer geometry compares to that of the regular 75s, but I would just leave it alone and shoot it if the hammer doesn't cam.

I thought the Shadow already comes with a 13lb mainspring, and a short reset trigger group?

Nope. It's has a 18lb mainspring and the reset is shorter because there is no firing pin block. Nothing special installed. The CZ custom shop has a SRT kit that shortens it even more but at present they have to install it. My P226 with the SRT kit is amazing. Resets a lot sooner than my CZ Shadow even though it has a firing pin block and decocker.
