So in the last 2 days I've bought two 452 zkm varmints, one in 22LR and one in 17hmr. The 22wmr will be here in 2 weeks but that's a different story :) so the both have 21" heavy barrel and the flat bottom stock, the only different is the receiver on the 17hmr is stamped with "American". Both of the rifles are new, is it just a receiver that was supposed to have the american contour & length barrel? How many of you have the same or seen it.

Interesting. What year are they? I can't quite make it out in the picture. I noticed they both have the matte finished receivers. I have two from 09 with polished receivers (.17HMR & .22LR american) and a 16" american from 2011 with the matte receiver and CZ-USA Kansas city stamped on it (I'm pretty sure this gun was imported from the states).

I wouldn't worry about it too much. There have been all kinds of variations on the I.D. stampings from CZ over the years. It varies from country to country where they are exported to also. In the U.S they also need the CZ USA stamping, in Australia they have come marked with American or not, for the same rifles.

I also have a CZ452 Varmint in 17hmr that the receiver is stamped "American". It still goes "bang" so I don't worry about it.
