CZ - Vintorez clone .. after a plastic surgery

I think you need a different POSP mount that's closer to the bore axis, but otherwise it's nice.

Actually now it is perfectly centered... before it was a bit off center, but i asked Kasat to set the rail deeper on the new bracket, so he did.. now it is perfect. I just have to make a shell deflector and i'm set.

Thank you for kind words guys... :)

Wow...This reminds me of a picture I once saw of a Soviet covert ops rifle. I think it was their "underwater" rifle.

Did you use this, or any other particular type of rifle as your inspiration for your mods?

Duh! Question answered in first post:redface: ...didn't know the "vintorez" was the name for the covert ops rifles.

I'll be honest, when I first looked at it I was less than impressed. Not with your workmanship and skill, but the look in whole. But I couldn't stop looking, and the more I look at it the more I want it. I've never heard of the Vintorez, so I used my google-fu, I think you did a great job.

I think someone should market a dress up kit like this.

peace...

I thought that as well. The options out there are slim, but of course the market isn't that big either. I don't have the tools (ok, or skill either) to make one like this, but if there was a bolt on solution... heck yeah.

Yes, first i did try modding the SKS, there isn't that much to do though , but as soon as i got my first CZ 858 i loved it, so many options, i decided to stick to it.. and SKS has been in a safe since.. :)

i bought CZ 858 for $ 650, then spend about $850-900 in parts... and thats considering that i made the stock, shortened the mag, and made the barrel shroud my self.... So you figure.

Gotta ask. What was the cost of modding the rifle? If I ever got an 858 that is how I would want it to lok.

Thanks.

Matt

blown away, have you been doing this kind of stuff for a while?

Ignore the neg comments, this looks like one serious rifle.

As well with your svd clone, looks unbelievable. If i had to choose between the vintorez or svd clones for 2000 bucks retail and an 762 RobArms XCR for 2400. The choice would be pretty easy, I've seen the 858 get some really decent accuracy, and those are some serious 858s.

Sweet dude.

So I checked your profile but found no build thread for this rifle...

What is included in that $900 worth of parts, and show us how you made your shroud...?
