i found one fake can that was 40 x 245mm (which was the perfect length to go against the gas block) and then i cut a part of another can and modified it to fit around the gas block (so the bigger one holds the small one in place)
the smaller piece only tightened against the Gas block, and NOT touching the handguard assembly.
