Hey shotgunners, I was wondering which of the two would be best for trap and skeet. The CZ Redhead or Canvasback, or The Franchi Instinct L or older models such as the renaissance.

Buying used doesn't bother me provided they are in good enough condition.
I know the Instinct and the Redhead cost about $1000 and the Canvasback is about $650.

As I live in Brantford ON, There aren't any dealers around that carry any of these, is there any other shotgun that fits similar to either the CZ or the Franchi just so I can shoulder it to see how it fits.

Flip a coin....Thats a pretty even fight!.....however I would pick the Franchi if I had a choice.

Less than 250 .the forearm shot loose .the barrel lug that the forearm latches to is made of soft metal and streched.

As much as I like CZ shotguns, they aren't really intended for high volume shooting, either. Find yourself a good used "B" gun (Browning, Beretta) with choke tubes. The removable chokes are important, because trap and skeet are two very different games.

I purchased a 1 year old Beretta 686E Sporting for about $400 more than a brand new Franchi Instinct L or CZ RedHead would have cost with taxes.

I have shouldered the Instinct L and it feels like quite a nice gun. No idea how well it shoots but it looks well built.

I cranked up my budget to $2000 so I can grab a quality firearm like a Beretta or a Citori, or even a Winchester.
The Winchester swings and feels excellent, handled one today.

Check out Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 1 at Wholesalesports.com - $2289
It's a good price on a competion oriented quality o/u. If Wholesale has one in stock somewhere, it's a very good deal.

There a nice gun, I went to triggers and bows and shouldered one, feels good but the wood is just to light on them, if it was darker i most likely would have bought it.

I ordered a Browning Citori Satin Lightning from Prophet River on Sunday. Thanks for your input guys. The gun should be at my door sometime next week.
If anyone who shoots out in Waterford wants to give'er a try, you are more then welcome too.
