Ive had a problem , got the rifle new over a year ago ,fired a few rounds threw it (hungarian MFH ? or something like that) then had a jam. First issue was- round fired but carrier stuck closed. Took it home and was able to remove case after partially dismantling fire arm.
I cleaned the firearm well and put it away for future use.
Brought it home with me to BC (i work and live in alberta most of time) was all jazzed to go shooting and .....good thing i brought the sks.
First round fired ,brass jammed in bore. I removed the mag and examined brass , it looked like a beaver took a bite.
Took it home and remove it with rubber malet and old cleaning rod . ( Precision hammering...not something i like doing) Was using older sellier bellot ammo , this time.
Cleaned gun again , tried again same issue.
Just picked up some norinco ammo , sum new sum older .Thought that might help , nope.
Back to the Sks-d i bought for the Missus, she doesnt like sharing....:nest:

Looks like a simple hard extraction. You probably have some rust in the chamber that you can't see. Get some CLR and let it sit for a couple hours, then give her a good scrubbing.

I was hoping it was a ammo defect however the ammo had worked well in my other rifles and showed very little effect from storage. Trying the new ammo was no better , the aggressive nature and constant effected area would indicate mechanical failure of rifle over a metal failure/fatigue issue of the ammo.(or at least to me it does) Im thinking along the lines that the extractor is not getting a full bite , possibly only on the area that is being sheared away.
but again thats my thinking ....but im here to pick the think tank.

Thanks Scott i did definatley do that before hand after a few failures, and before i started asking for help. From the research i did , that was a common solution/cause . I gave er a good soak then a good brushing. :)

well since it seems to be the theme , im goona soak and polish again...no harm i got a few hours before i go fishing.well see how it goes.

holy crap i ...when i started this thread earlier i had a reply to scott...this reply was redited cuz i was goona say how i cleaned the firearm very well before asking for help for 2 reasons...i didnt want to be embarressed....and number 2 sum JERK..:kickInTheNuts: ;) would try to buy it at a very discount price ... i now wish i had not edited that reply...bastard:dancingbanana:
 
Check that your extractor get a full purchase on the rim: there might be some debris under it.
If not, then consider polishing that chamber.
There's a strong possibility that you have surface corrosion on the chamber walls causing the hulls to stick.
Take a fired brass, resize it full length, drill the primer pocket and tap it. Thread a piece of rod long enough to clear the action in it and chuck that in a drill.
Coat the brass with some polishing paste and go at it at slow speed for a few minutes. Put some Kroil in the chamber, recoat the brass with fresh compound and repeat.
After a few passes, clean thoroughly and oil.

ill have to check it out with a micrometer , but it really doesnt seem like the brass has any oddities ....im going with the polishing for now , have been working on it for the last hour.....will see what transpires when im done
