A buddy has a 452 whose regular 22 cleaning rod doesn't go down so he had to buy a slightly undersized rod... this gun also shoots lights out as do most cz's.

Is it possible that one of the reason's for cz's accuracy is that the bore size is smaller than .223?

22lr bullet diameter is smaller than 22 centerfire. the bullet diameter is:
22lr-.222" or .223" and the 22 centerfire is .224". 22 magnum is the same as the centrefire. even 1/1000th of an inch will make a difference. just ask anyone who shoots cast bullets.

Same goes for my boys scout, bore diameter is smaller than Sako, Anschutz, Thompson Center and it shoots the lights out of many .22's some of the above included.

I bought a Dewey .20 caliber rod. You need a Dewey .17 to 8/32 adapter to attach a .22 jag and brush to it. Works very well.

I have a CZ 453 Varmint. I love the gun, cleans up real quick too!!!

i had the same thing with my 10/22. 22 rod goes down the stock barrel with ease and now that i change to a dlask the jag barely fits. the dlask shoots much better than the stock barrel too
