I want to buy a CZ452, - I love the look and use of the Mauser-style rear ladder sight on the Lux, but dont much care for the stock; much preferring the American or varmint thumbhole style - unfortunately, they dont natively come with the ladder rear sight.

Is it much trouble to install one?

If you can get one that has the dovetail in place then check out the Marbles site. They have a whack of rear sights that work well. Have old Marbles on two of my leverguns and they are delightful to shoot. One came stock on a 110yr old Winchester 1894 in 38-55 that I absolutely love to shoot. The other is on a Henry Golden Boy 22lr I picked up in a trade. Great fun to shoot and both sport Marbles rears. Front Firesight on the Henry. Apparently Marbles made most of the decent rear sights you still see on some older rifles-not at all like those crappy sheet metal jobs. I have a Cz452 American that is several years old and it is a smooth barrel. To put sights on it I would have to have a smith cut the dovetails. Maybe get a Lux that has sights. They will probably be quite decent.
