cz452 with 22 shorts?

is it ok to use .22 shorts in cz 452. the rifle says .22 lr on the barrel

They will fire with no problem if you hand load them but unless you modify the mag they will just flop loose before they get pushed into the chamber.

I just tried it my grandsons scout and it fed them all flawlessly . I did it with 3 full mags and not one fail to feed happend.

I've been told it's not recommended if you care about your rifle's accuracy....something about forming a carbon ring at the shorts length in the chamber. I guess if you clean the chamber thoroughly and only use them once in a while it would be ok.

Using .22 short (where'd you find them, anyway?) means that you'll get more fouling in the chamber, which requires more cleaning.

I was giver them by a friend. they are really old and have alot of ftf's

I've seen CCI shorts around at several places. So long as you don't shoot several thousand through a LR chamber they won't hurt your chamber. Just make sure to clean before firing LR again.

except for the occasional opportunity, I wouldn't for the simple reason that the shorts are more expensive than long rifle.

They will shoot fine. I have done it. Just clean out the chamber because it will get a build up or carbon in the chamber
