Cz455 "Canadian" cheaper than standard?

I'm shopping for a cz455 Canadian, and have noticed the price is usually lower than the regular " 'murican".
Why would that be? I assume all the hardwear is the same, but the extra cost of the stock detailing should make the price higher. Would it be because of the diffent type of wood?

Stock is beech wood which is cheaper.

Son of a beech ... whodathunk? A good hard Birch stock might have been better.

Beech is easier and therefore less expensive to finish adequately. This makes a difference to manufacturers making many stocks while striving to keep their costs down.

I've bin informed that the beetch wood is more stable than the walnutzs.
Not sure if this be true, but it could be.

I'd always assumed they were priced at a discount because they were sort of fugly and dealers were trying to clear out their stock because it wasn't moving.

Probably would've been pale blonde like the SHOT show Browners (and Rugers?) that come up from time to time. Something about maple not taking stains well
