I am hoping to find one of these in the Lux or maybe the carbine models. It's my understanding that the current CZ are 1:9 twist and the older models are 1:12.The new CZ527.223 are impossible to find at the moment.I know of a carbine in 1:12 twist that is available. My question is what are the heaviest bullets that the 1:12 twist will stabilize.Any CZ owners out there that could weigh in?

I have had several 223s with the 12" twist and every one of them shot a 60 gr. Sierra with superb accuracy.
Many others might tell you that a 55 gr. bullet is the limit but my personal experience has been satisfying with the 60 gr. load.
However, I did not try any heavier bullet

I have a CZ527 HB Varmint, and it's got the slower twist rate; like 1-11 or 1-12?

With 40gr bullets, it will group inside 1", but the bigger the bullet, the more the group opens up.

It is 'coyote accurate' with 55 gr bullets, and sensible distances.

I sight-in to be dead on at 100 yards with it. Last week, I had to take a 250 yard shot (using 40gr HP). I held just over the back, and spined the coyote.

I have 55gr Hornady 'Zombie Max', that I'm using as well.

I wish it had a tighter twist rate.

I have a CZ527 ebony 1:12 mostly use 53 gr. V-max, shoots the 60 gr. Hornady with excellent results as well. I'm going to cook up some 40 grainers for gopher vaporizing this spring. I had a Rem VTR with a 1:9 twist shot the 53's excellent as well. I seldom take shots over 300 yards and then it's just at gophers.

My 1:12 CZ also does best with 40 grain bullets (Sierra #1385). Any 55 grain bullets I have tried were so-so. As stated above, up to 60 grain flat-based bullets should be fine for stability, but YMMV may vary as to what gives best accuracy.

Interesting to hear most of them preferring lighter bullets. I've only shot 55gr out of mine and was satisfied with the results. I'll have to try some lighter bullets.
