Cz527 carbine vs howa mini

The browning X-Bolt offers their .223 Rem in an SSA ( Super Short Action ) which is about 3/16 of an inch longer then a CZ 527 action. You can get the X-Bolts in a 1:8 twist if you
want to get up to around 80 gr bullets. I have both, a Browning X-Bolt ssa in .223 rem with 1:8 twist, 20 inch treaded medium contour barrel and a CZ 527M carbine in .223 rem in
a 1:9 twist rate. My preference is for the CZ due to it's compact design, control round feeding, iron sights and the fact that it was chambered to CIP specifications and will handle
5.56 NATO ammo no problem - and CZ is proud to admit it. Don't get me wrong, the Browning is an excellent rifle and I especially like their rotary magazine that holds five (5) .223 rem
rounds. With its 20 inch medium contour barrel and 39.5 inch OAL, it's a fairly compact tack driver. If the Browning had Iron Sights and a CZ trigger, I'd have a much harder time picking
a favourite. I have used surplus Norinco 5.56 Nato ammo in the Browning, but I find it is prone to light primer strikes, something the CZ 527M ( that is what the "M" is all about )
doesn't seem to have a problem with.
