CZ550 arrived today

Well my new rifle arrived today in the mail.

CZ550 American in .30-06 with a Burris 3-9X scope w/ ballistic plex reticle.

She is a touch heavy, but real pretty. I can't wait to go to the range with it.

Cheers all.

Thats the exact set up I am thinking of getting. I tried one at the range the other day, and liked the trigger a lot.

Will be waiting for your results at the range.

Mmmmmm...CZ rifles..mmmmmmmmm..........Yes, they tend to be very pretty guns. I helped a guy sight in his .22 (a 452 I think) once, and that was a beautiful little rifle. Kinda gorgeous actually......

funny I was in reliable gun & tackle on thurs. asking about a cz550 full stock with det. mag. I want one in 6.5x55 but not available. somthing about to long of an action. so .308 seems only choice. not to pi$$ of the .308 fans but I am a huge 6.5x55 sweede fan.The standard trigger was very nice but push it foreward to "set" mode ... wow.

Yup. 550, nice choice. I've got a 550 "Prestige" year -2000 vintage in 30-06 of course.. Funny, the tag said Prestige and the receiver says "Premium". Well, it shoots premium alright. Shoots far better than I do. And it's right purdy too, not as purdy now as before my last sheep hunt, but hey, dings and scratches add character, as long as they are not from rubbing the truck seat.

The one thing I had a problem with was the stock oil or varnish finish-after a few wet, cold hunts it rubbed away wherever my hands rubbed it alot, Sooooo.......out with the tung n' teak oil, total stripping and refinish and while I had it apart, an Acraglas kit got used.

One of the very best investments I ever made, topped with a 1.5-6 Meopta Artemis 2000.
And I too love my 452 ZKM .22 absolutely the best .22 I've ever owned or fired.

Glad to see all the positive comments on the 550. I've been seriously considering one in 416 Rigby. The lack of cross bolts was one of the things that has got me up in the air on it. Pic would be nice though............and I'd like to hear how it shoots.

A good glass bedding job should solve that problem.
I would not fire a CZ Rigby until it was bedded.

Adding a bolt to the process wouldn't be a big deal.

I have a CZ550FS and it is in 6.5X55. love this rifle. Shot alot of deer with it already. Just go to the CZ website to look at their firearms.

Most of the CZ 550 American Safari Magnum rifles and all of the CZ 550 Safari Classics Magnum Express rifles have cross bolts depending on the type of stock you like. The CZ 550 American Safari Magnum with a kevlar stock and one of the laminate stocks, and the CZ 550 Safari Magnum with the Bavarian stock don't have cross bolts.
