Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the the cz repair facility in BC. I am hoping to get my rifles feeding issues fixed. My controlled round feeding 550 is acting like a push feed.

Thanks for any info or help.
Dan

You didn't really ask any questions. To help getting this thread on the go, I'll ask some questions for you instead.

Did you buy the gun new or used?

Are you absolutely sure the rifle is a 550 and not a 557? The CZ 550 and 555 are control feed but the 557 is push feed.

Yeah it's a 550. I bought the rifle new and when I work the bolt, instead of the cartridge rim sliding up and under the extractor the cartridge pops up out of the magazine and gets "pushed" into the chamber. Checked out a couple other forums as well and this happened to others as well. Im slightly uncomfortable sending my rifle across Canada not knowing anything about the repair facility. So that's why I asked.

Contact CZUB and ask them about the facility. You would get a better response from them not us. Make sure is CZUB you contact because CZ-USA isn't going to help you. They only deal with American customers.

Dan 81, I have no idea what the chambering of your rifle is, my CZ 550 FS is a 9.3X 62 and it works flawlessly with anything fed to it.
However, and this might be of no help to you but I recall reading somewhere ( perhaps a gun magazine ) where a CZ 550 chambered in 6.5X55 I think it was had a feeding issue because of the ever so slightly larger rim dia. of the 6.5 case, and after the extractor was opened up a wee tiny bit on the bottom side it fed like a dream..... does that make sense ? I don't know..

my 550 in 6.5 x 55 does the same thing half the time the crf doesnt work but it doesnt make any difference since i would never notice if i wasnt looking at it. unlike my winchester the extractor easily snaps over the rim . this would be a problem in my winchester if the crf didnt work perfect which it does

It is not your issue to fix - it is their responsibility.

However, after many of these, I find the mag well rail lower edges to be very, very sharp, and they may be grabbing and cutting into the soft brass, thereby holding it a bit too long and not allowing the round to pop out normally and into the extractor as it should.

Look at your trial brass - do they have sharp slices on them length wise?

If so, you MAY (if you are confident as it will harm your warranty) use a fine fine emery cloth to SLIGHTLY dull those lower mag well edges.

Be careful. As I said, it is not your responsibility to make it work correctly.

What IS the cz repair facility in BC?

Just checked mine and it does the same as yours. It doesn't jam up or anything when going in the chamber. If I hadn't read this thread I really don't think I would have known the difference.
