Questions for owners of CZ75 Champion:

  • Have you encountered any reliability problems, design flaws or poor quality of parts, etc.? Please tell what the flaw/malfunction was, under what circumstances it occurred, and how many shots have been taken over the life of the gun until it happened.
  • Would you buy it again? If not, what pistol would you buy instead?
  • What upgrades have you made/would you suggest?
  • Where do you buy parts/ammo/accessories?

My first pistol was a CZ 75B. Unfortunately my gun had the problem of the hammer only falling to the half #### position 1 out of 20 or so trigger pulls. It was sent away for repairs, which seemed to help the problem for a while, but then the same problem started again.

That gun was exchanged for a new one by the dealer that I bought it from. I used the new gun for a few months and then the trigger return spring broke. Not really a big deal, but it took several months to be returned from repairs.

Would I buy another CZ? Yes... I like the looks / feel of them, and they do have a good reputation for reliability and accuracy. I seem to be one of the few that have had problems with them, but sometimes my luck seems to be more bad than good.

My first 9mm pistol was a CZ-75. NOT ONE PROBLEM AT ALL. INFACT IT WAS THE MOST ACCURATE AND RELIABLE 9mm I ever owned. From the kneeling position I could put 16 shots into a 6" black circle at 50 (FIVE ZERO) meters.... IT'S ON VIDEO

He is asking about the CZ75 Champion model. I doubt there would be much difference than a standard model but who knows. The only problem I have had on my Pre-B 75 has been due to the lack of cleaning.

I do own one and there are a few differences.:)

The Champion is a single action with the sweetest trigger I've ever had in a handgun. It comes with a factory comp and the grip on it melts into my hand. I can cut one hole firing 10 rounds off hand @ 15 yards (and I'm no expert!).

The fit and finish are superb, the gun functions flawlessly, and it has very little recoil/muzzle flip. It's like shooting a .22!:)

As Rudy said though, the CZ's seem to like regular cleaning. Mine's good for about 1000 rounds and then she starts acting up.

The other downside to the Champion model is the price tag.....but I think it's worth every penny!
