Hello, recently the breech face of my CZ75 slide had been damaged. This wasn't from myself but by someone else trying to remedy an issue on my firearm, doing something they shouldn't.

That being said, I am trying to find a slide for my CZ75, anyone happen to know where to look? Searches from the internet have been not helpful. I'd really not like to bin the firearm.

I've attached a photo of how my breech face looks for any curious.

I reached out to CZ to see if this is even safe to fire. The internet has so many wildly opposing opinions on the matter.

If anyone has a line on a new (obviously not new new as they are from the 80s) please let me know!

Every time SFRC has an auction, there is exactly one pre-B CZ75 in it. My theory is somebody is sitting on a pile of them but doesn't want to release them all at once or they will tank the parts market.

Anyway, my point is the guns are coming up for sale at auctions and estate sales, and you can't take possession of the frame but you can buy the whole gun and take all the other parts. I converted a .40 S&W CZ75B to 9mm just about a year ago doing this. The pre-B guns are often surplus in rough shape externally, but with patience you might find a nice one.

As far as your current part, I would not hesitate to shoot that. That little bit of peening on the breechface isn't going to hurt anything.

I didn't even think of SFRC auctions. I will give that a try next time they have one up. I get many of my reloading goodies from there. Got lucky two auctions ago and got some solid stuff.

I would take it to a gunsmith and get a professional opinion. As a welder and machinist I would see that damage as very fixable.

Was in contact recently with one i trust. He suggested that the burs can be stoned out. After having it stoned it looks much better, with some minor pitting. Nothing nearly as bad as gas pitting or anything that bad. I'm also in contact with CZ who are getting back to me with their opinion.

Turned out good! Here is my pre B with over 100k rounds through it, which included around 20k rounds of 9mm Major. Slide was hard chromed when brand new. Still runs 100 percent, on its 5th slide stop and 3rd front site.

They are awesome guns. Are you running reloads through that? Almost looks like loose primer pockets with that wear around the firing pin hole.

Then again any gun at 100k is going to have wear.

I wish I could buy another. However my current is a Pre-B and modifying mags to work has been a nightmare.

Where did you get a contact for CZ?

I have a M57 or TT57 and looking for a softer trigger spring and maybe a 7.62/9 barrel. All I could find some used stuff from Romania or Polland.

I just went on their website and filled out their contact form stating what I wanted to get in touch about and they emailed me about a week later with a contact to reach out to. Worked well.

For mags I use the CZ Shadow 2 10 round mags with the large plastic base (not the pinned 18 rounders) which work perfectly, along with the pinned factory mags that were purchased with it in 1985. The pistol has only seen reloads. Loading a 9mm to major power factor was hard on the gun.

The part number for the large plastic bottom mag is CZ 11102. Should fit most of the Pre-B except the earlier ones where the mag well is a bit more narrower than the rest of the Pre-B’s. CZ Kadet/Kadet 2 22LR kilt works really well on the Pre-B too, no modification needed.

Also, if you have money to burn and really need parts: Royal Tiger Imports in Florida apparently got a shipment in of the trade-in/surplus of the Pre-Bs. irunguns (and I think prophetriver) can import the gun minus the frame. $499 USD for the gun + import charges.

I could only imaging it would be hard, still works though! Great guns.
