CZ75 vs Sig P226

I'm a CZ pistol guy and a Ruger revolver guy.

Both brands are like the Toyotas of guns. Nothing flashy, but great value. Both will never let you down.

Sig's are real nice, but I'd prefer my CZ even if they cost the same. Same with my GP100 over the 686. The fact they are cheaper is just a bonus.

Guns are like women, everyone has their own preference.

Dude, seriously: Listen to yourself. It bugs you when people "... just say that the P226 is better "hands down" or as just said "not as reliable.", then you say "...fairly loose tolerance levels and so I would suggest that it may do quite well.

Sorry to keep his going, but that is a rather unfair comparison. I said that it "may" do quite well, not it "will" do quite well. And tolerance levels have a lot to do with how well a pistol performs. Your friends SVI has tight tolerances with not many failures, great. But you will find that race guns and the like are the most sensitive to ammo, dirt, lubrication etc.

Anyway, back on topic. My point is not to say that the CZ is better than the Sig, or vice versa. I am just saying don't knock it without good reason.

From my experience, I have owned CZ's for a long time and have never had a problem besides from stovepipes with soft reloads. I know quite a few other people with 75's/85's and they have also never complained and swear by them.

But as you said, he is going for a Norinco so go figure! :D

What has a simpke question turned into?
I don't know, but in my experience handguns are like vehicles. Different people have different tastes and preferances. Moreover, on occasion you may buy a "lemon" and I dont care which brand of gun you buy. In the end most CZ owners are quite satisfied with their guns, and so are most sig owners. I know I'm buying another CZ now (just had to get a 2 tone for Christmas :p )
Both are nice guns. Shoot them and then decide.
