Took a month for my order to come in but my CZ75B Stainless New Edition finally arrived. I was very impressed with the workmanship. Bead blasted finish contrasting with a lightly polished stainless. The wooden grips are a very nice red stain and I actually think I'll keep it this way. I generally like Hogue grips, but this fits the hand so well I'll stick with the wood.
Sights are very sharp without too much gap when lining up rear and front. Pistol came with Trijicon night sights (I believe their Meprolight made for CZ) which have the CZ symbol on them. Give a great sight picture and glow nice and bright at night.
Trigger is not as nice as my CZ Shadow but this was to be expected as the CZ75B model has a firing pin block. That said it feels very good for a combat pistol. There is definitively some creep felt when very slowly squeezing the trigger (This is already smoothing out as I have done dry firing with snap caps to smooth this out). During faster combat drills it is not noticed. I will drop in a 13 lbs hammer spring which will lighten double action and help a bit with single action as well.
Took it out and put it through its paces for the first time July 1st. Only had time to put 20 rounds through it as I was range officer and helping out before taking off for work in afternoon. On the 1st, I found it shooting about 3 -4 inches high with 9mm American Eagle FMJ 147 grain bullets at 25 meters. I believe 124 grain may shoot closer to point of aim at 25 meters.
There may also be another brand of ammo that it likes better and I'll do some research to see what I can find. If anyone has some suggestions please let me know. So I figure I'd line up some pictures; this pistol shoots very well and I am pleased at its performance.
I put 50 rounds out at 25 meters using 9mm American Eagle FMJ 147 grain. Bottom line is I can highly recommend this pistol to anyone interested in an all steel 9mm combat pistol.
