CZ75B not chambering round properly

SO I went to the range to shoot my two handguns both for the first time today. The Tokarev I had no major problems with...aside from my normally half decent accuracy eating ####, lol.

With my CZ75B however, for the first couple magazines I went through, when I would #### back the slide to chamber the first round, it would jam. The round was not being fully chambered. After the third magazine or so I found that if i really pulled back on the slide and just let go, there was enough momentum when the slide snapped forward to chamber a round without jamming.

Is this just a new gun issue where its just not worked in, do I just want to let the slide go after cocking and not control its slide back forward, or did I #### something up when I cleaned it this morning? lol

Are you talking a failure to feed or slide not going fully into battery?

CZ 75's are quite picky when it comes to OAL of a round. more specifically bullets with a tall 'shoulder'.

Edit: yes you're supposed to let the slide slam home.

^^^^This is how you are supposed to chamber a round.

Pull the slide fully to the rear...and let go...do not baby the slide going forward.

If the rounds are sticking in the chamber than they are too long in overall length. You should be able to chamber and rack to extract a round easily. If you find that this particular brand of ammo chambers only with a full slingshot and then you cannot rack the slide to extract it easily then it's wedging into the beginning of the rifling. It also means that it's a touch too long for proper use in your CZ.

As noted by those above the CZ's are a little tight in the chamber length. So they end up being a little fussy about which ammo they shoot. Do NOT keep shooting this ammo if they stick. Because at some point you'll find one that won't go ahead and you'll have to really slam the slide to rack it back and extract that round. And doing so puts a lot of needless stress on the extractor hook.

Instead use this particular batch of ammo for other 9mm guns which are not as fussy and buy some other ammo which easily cycles through your CZ.

My pre-b is fickle with regard to this as well. Not even gauging each round prevents an occurance. If you want to save yourself grief at the range take the bbl out of your gun and check each round using the bbls chamber. They need to fully seat and be fall out loose. If you stick one at the range do this. With the gun pointed down range, finger off the trigger, rest the dust cover on the edge of a post and push on the grip. Much easier than trying to force the slide closed or pull the action open. It's happend so many times to me now, I have a hand signal I use to alert the RSO as to what I'm up to.

Never had an issue with factory rounds, but my reloads cause issues more often than not. More with lead bullets than plated.

What my 75 won't digest, my NP29 eats up no problem. Go figure.
