Cz75b Vs Cz Sp-01

Hi

I have and shoot both the 75BD and the SP01. As far as I know my SP01 is about as base model as they come. The price difference between the two was a bit under $100 down here.

I like the SP01 better. It feels better in my hand. The trigger is better (though not great on either one). The weight forward feel of the SP01 seems to make it easier to manage. The night sights on the SPO1 are cute, but I don't shoot much in the dark ....

Both guns are very accurate. Both are very reliable. Both have a look to them that you either love or hate.

Compared to SIG's, I happen to like the trigger on my SIG 226 Navy better than the CZ's. I better find something better on a pistol that cost me twice as much :D. I don't believe the 226 is any more accurate than the CZ's. Most people find the 226 "nicer" to shoot.

Thanks Again to all..

I currenty own a S&W M&P .40 and a Ruger MK111 .22.....I wanted to get a 9mm solid steel frame as I already have a palstic gun that can hang stuff off..
If I ever decide to shoot either IPSC or IDP I can use the M&P and now the CZ.. I wanted a classic design full size steel frame and the CZ fit the bill..
The reason I started the thread because everyone one was telling me to get the SP01 ....

Price was an issue as I have more guns I want to buy to complete my collection..Last thing in pistol is a .45...I'm thinking Kimber..

Thanks to all

Hi

I do very much like the idea of all steel in a pistol you are going to use a lot. I suspect that if I carried the pistol on my hip all day long I'd like alloy frames more than I do :D :D :D.

When you get around to the 1911, take a look at several pistols. Kimber is *not* the only game in town. If you are on a budget there are very good alternatives. The Norinco's and Springfield Mil Spec's both come to mind pretty fast ...

Agree on the weight issue,,

As for .45,, don't like Norinco,,very poor finish,,,Do like the Springfield Mil spec,,but in Canada a tuned Kimber will on cost only $250.00 and from what I hear is a superior gun..

Carlisle PA,,not far from Gettysburg are you?

Hi

Yup, as I drive to work the road sign says "Gettysburg 23 miles". It's more or less just over them hills over there. Carlisle is also the home of the Army War Collage. The burning of the Carlisle Barracks in the Civil War is commonly considered (at least in Carlisle :D) to be the furthest north fight by Lee's forces.

Pistol prices in Canada really do have me confused. If you can get Kimbers for $250, that's amazing. Down here they are four or five times that. The Springfield Mil spec is around $550. For $250 I'd take the Kimber over the Norinco any day.

Your American dollar has dropped so much that when we buy your American manufactured goods we get incredible bargains.

Actually I think he meant the Kimber would only be $250 more rather than $250.

Hi

We're soon going to be switching over to the Peso, since it's a more stable currency :D :D :D

A $250 delta in price is still a good deal on the Kimber. Down here the closest thing to a $300 Norinco is the $330 RIA. The Springfield Mil Spec is $550. A modestly tricked out Kimber is going to run you $900+

Wasn't there a few skirmishes in Harrisburg,That would be further North wouldn't it.. Love gettysburg one of my favorite balltefields,,Huge civil war fan or as I call it THE WAR OF NORTHERN AGGRESSION,, been to almost all major battlefields.

Springfield MIL spec will run you about $825 and Kimbers are around $1050
sorry fo the confusion.

Ever make it to the T.O area? let me know I'll give you a tour of our local range.

Hi

They never really made it across the river at Harrisburg. The action there was on the western shore of the river. For what ever reason the burning of the second oldest continuously occupied military establishment in the Army got the "privilege" of being the official furthest north point.

I grew up in Rochester, NY so I have been to a lot of southern Ontario. It's been five or more years since I got there last. If you make another trip to Gettysburg, stop by and at least I can feed you a beer ...

Sounds good,, you're not in law enforcement by any chance? the carrying on the hip comment made me think..

thanks for the Harrisburg info but I'm gonna have to correct you on the furthest northern civil war action.

I'm originally from Montreal and remember hearing about a Confederate raid
that ended in Montreal and maybe was even staged from there.I looked it up and this is what I found.

St. Albans Raid was the northernmost land action of the American Civil War, taking place in St. Albans, Vermont on October 19, 1864.

Take care.

Hi

I *knew* you were going to bring that one up. The reason that doesn't get the specific honor is that it was not an action by Lee's army. It's a lot like baseball statistics. There are lots of them ....

I'm not in LE, I'm an engineer ....

Bob

Okay,, now your getting into semantics,,So you're only Including actions by Lee's armies? OKAY we'll settle this one,,How about it was the Northern most action during Lee's 1863 campaign,,Antietam is not that far away you know, but that was 1862...Anyways Vermont was more of a large scale bank robbery,,but it STILL counts as a military operation conducted by the Confederate army.

Engineer eh..
