I had a phantom for a bit, put about 1000 rounds through it before finally getting tired of how a double action pull wouldn't strike the firing pin but instead stop at the half ####. Traded it in, so the store could just send it back warranty and I wouldn't have to wait.
The pistol was lighter but seemed a little harder to manage than the 75b. My friend has a 75b and we would shoot one then the other, the 75b kicked less for sure. I wasn't crazy about the decocking lever at all, would have prefered the safety, but the poly gun only comes in decocker. I liked the grip size and am awaiting some slim aluminium grips for my new sp-01 shadow (all metal) which currently has rubber grips I don't like. I found the buttons on the Phantom to be very easy to use, not requiring too much force to press. Reloading was very easy and very fast, between the easy mag release, the slightly funnelled mag well and the shape of the mags themselves.
I've only just gotten the Shadow, and I like it much better, despite it weighing 30% more than the Phantom, but that's for target shooting. If I were to carry the Shadow as a duty pistol, well, it's the one I would want (after the shorter p-01 probably, but I haven't tried that one).
Take down's a breeze, like all CZs and the tritium night sights are a nice bonus.
Personally I prefer the Shadow, the extra weight really mitigates the kick (as well as there are several different perks to the Shadow) and given the choice it's what I would get, but there's certainely nothing wrong with the Phantom. The problem I had with mine, I feel is probably a one in a million thing they can fix on warranty.
