Is this common? It is so loose that I had to check online to make sure I didn't miss putting a c-clip or something on it.

Installing on the wrong side, the pin just falls out. Installing the proper way, it is a bit better, but it still slides without much effort. I'm concerned it will walk out on me while I'm shooting.

I had the same problem, my solution was to install new had guard system. I think special forces czech army handguard system uses diffrent bolt to eliminate any play

Contact wolverine and see if they have any extra top H/G's for sale or under warranty, mine was like that and I contacted North Sylva and they made it right!

Is Wolverine the warranty centre for CZ in Canada?

I'm a little concerned because it is a Canadian model, so it's not the beaver barf cover. I have seen colour variations in the wood too. I may just find a c-clip to put on the recessed part at the end of the pin.

How does the wood locks to the heat shield with the bracket or it is locked by bend metal. If it is bracket they are easy to switch

Shouldnt matter what model it is. Best to ask wolverine and see what they say. You can always just get a new upper metal H/G and put the canadian wood on that. Very easy to change the wood off of one to another.
