Hopefully this is in the right forum. I bought a CZ858 off someone here on the EE. Rifle is in good shape, rifle will accept the mags, chamber and extract a round but will not fire. I can pull the bolt all the way back let it ride forward but it either does not #### the firing system or when I pull the trigger it is not releasing the firing pin. I can pull the trigger all the way to the rear after cocking the rifle but nothing happens when I pull the trigger, trigger moves all the way to the rear but nothing. Not sure if this is a broken part or the previous owner put it back together wrong.

I'm new to the 858 and just downloaded a manual for it but was hoping to have some input with those who are familiar with the rifle and or may have similar issues.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Check the striker & firing pin's for damage. If there is none please take pic of the inside of the reciever. Also check the red rifles forum for more info on this.

Is it drilled for scope mount? If it is, look at the stricker if there is any grinding. Some mounts require stricker to be ground so it does not catch mounting screws eg.(zendl mount).
Someone might ground off wrong side of the stricker

Well I bought the rifle a couple months ago and just went out to test it and found the issue. Two months later I don't see going after someone, but craping on him does not make the gun go bang. Nothing modified for a scope mount as far as I can tell. And there is no click when I pull the trigger.

does your selecter switch go to all three positions, if so make sur its at 12:00/6:00= safe position. put it so the rear of the lever is pointing at the 1 this is the fire position, and if pointed towards the 30 position it is also in a "safe" position and will no release the striker.you will just get a sponge trigger feel.

No offense but the world doesnt revolve around you! The negative feedback is so that other buyers know about this and think twice before buying from this guy. You can help alot of others out with a simple click of a button and a sentence describing the problem. I hope it is something simple and it gets fixed quickly, and hopefully is just something silly, but do us all a favour and if it is the sellers fault please let us know!

... I can pull the bolt all the way back let it ride forward but it either does not...

Just to clarify; You pull the carrier to the rear and let it slam forward under its own power, not pull it to the rear and let it "ride forward" under your control, correct?

There are only a few things that can cause a VZ to not shoot, riding the carrier would be one.

Take a picture of the internals (trigger group) and post it up here.

Ahhh..............I'm sure if you were the seller, you'd like the OP to contact you first before going off half cocked and imediatley figuring you sold him junk, would you not? Or in your little world is everyone figured guilty until proven innocent?

Hopefully it's an easy fix for the OP

always clean and reassemble a gun that you just bought.

remove top cover and main spring , pull the trigger and watch the sear move up and down, is it moving easily ?

Thanks, I'm thinking it's an easy fix, but was just looking for feedback. Thanks guys

Not sure where you are but I am in Kelowna and could take a look at it if you like. I have a CZ 858 myself, so we could compare, otherwise post some pics and describe what you are doing and what happens. Some good advice here already.

You have to be careful about leaving negative feedback on CGN without giving the person a chance to make things right. Retaliatory feedback can also hurt you. If a person really wants to get you for leaving negative feedback, they make multiple user ID's and really pound your score. It is a good thing most of people on CGN use the feedback system fairly.

I wouldn't leave neg feedback without first speaking to the person who sold me the rifle - especially as it may well be user error of something equally simple. Anyway, I am in Vancouver, have a 858 and am happy to take a look if you are nearby. If you shoot at PoCo lots of members there have 858's and can probably help also.
