CZ858 Lower Handguard Pin Replacement?

It has always seemed that the most poorly thought out part of field stripping the CZ858 was the roll pin that holds the lower handguard in place...and the pin on mine has never fit very well. Has anyone figured out a better option to replace this pin? Perhaps something like the retained pin used on the upper handguard and receiver cover, or a screw and screw post (double-ended screw that screws into a matching sleeve)?

I know we've got some creative folks on this forum. Could you please share your ideas?

The factory pin is solid, not a roll pin. It had both ends flared to keep it in place because it was not intended to be removed by the end user.

Get a real roll pin. Works perfectly.

That is the first thing I tell people when they ask me about this rifle. Get a roll pin that snugly fits it. Then after yo blast threw a whole bunch of rounds with a hamer and punch open the roll pin up with a few wacks and it will be soild for a long long time ;)
