Cz858 prices hilarious.

Keeping mine out of a combination of inertia and general orneryness.

Not sure that people dumping, or collecting, are making the right choice. Right now, I think "hold and see" is the safer approach.

Mind, if you can find one for less than $800, it would probably be worth the risk. "Probably". The value trajectory of previous prohibs doesn't bode well for the future value of 858's. But if you "might want" to have one at some future point, now might be the only time to get in on it.

Well my people on the inside have been encouraging me to get either of these 2 guns for about a year and they swear it will pay off. No this isn't a joke, I traded for one in December and super pleased. I think there is more to this than people know. When someone who helped draft the bill says "find this gun asap, you will thank me later" ya I take it serious.

If the new classes were open ended rather than naming specific models/rifles I would agree.

These new classes are not some back door way into owning any prohib and enshrining the right to pass their use down to future generations unimpeded by gov

I don't see the attraction. These rifles were somewhat appealing due to the fact that they were non-restricted. As prohibs, I would say that half of their value evaporates instantly. 90% of it gone if you can't take them to the range.

Having to apply for an att every time you go shooting at the range is almost as bad as not being able to get one

Ask any 12x holder how it feels to be so honored to be in such a class . Put it this way , anyone paying or overpaying to get into any bs 12x class will sure enough end up with a gun that will Not be allowed to be transported to any kind of a range That is if the RCMP even allow you to keep it after they ban it in the interest of public safety

In regards to the Swiss arms can you not just strip it and put it on a NEA lower ? In the end all you have to turn over is the reciever

wait until im done with my valmet... NR AK Action baby! :)

Yes, but for how long? Just because certain models of Valmet were named as exempt 12(5) Prohibited back in the day, doesn't mean that door won't suddenly close under C71. Just like all of the rebarrelled, currently NR Bushmaster ACRs floating around out there. One stroke of a pen and they become restricted (or Prohibited) despite all of the extra expense and effort that went into getting them de-registered in the first place....

They will have to deal with the indigenous people who were given valmets and yearly ammunition allowances from the government.

That is not a battle of optics the liberals want

I would rather they confiscate and compensate now than just take it for nothing when I die. All Licensed gun owners need to present this as one unified voice. If the government is forced to pay what every gun owner did to take it, the bill will fold just like the registry

I don't know. I'm currently considering picking up one of the CZ 858's to replace the nice one I had about 10 years ago. Just to be able to gripe about how the "Government screwed us, AGAIN". It kinda appeals to me. It's like a badge of pride--in a perverse kind of way.

I suspect that some of these people on the inside that you know are playing you big time , and having a good laugh behind your back . Many firearm owners have been to this rodeo before , and it certainly has not turned out well for folks that own prohibs . Time will tell I guess , but I suspect that once these firearms are registered as prohibs , then the ATTs will magically disappear just like they did before ; and you will be left with a giant paper weight . It is the same old liberal game ; but with a reshuffled deck . Best case scenario is that in a couple of years , you will be stuck with a range only gun that will be difficult or impossible to sell .

Your posts on here are becoming silly.

My thoughts exactly. In fact, I posted this elsewhere on the forum:

By law, to get 12(3) you needed to be in possession of said rifles when they went prohib right?

So wouldn't the way they're doing things (new 12.x classes) make it easier to deal with, in that you don't have to change anything in the 12.3 regs?

They told you to get one asap in order to get grandfathered class because after that, you wont be able too...

Real friends would have told you: my employer are banning these if you want one, now is the time.

Here is what you should do in order to thanks them: a strong kick to the balls !
